I hope the slow re-opening goes well for your area. Too many people, including the local government, rushed into opening here and yet still people aren't taking it seriously. The Hate U Give is such a great book. I haven't managed to see the movie yet. It hasn't been available on streaming yet. I hope you have a great week. So much to comment on in your post!
I lo...Hi Diane,
So much to comment on in your post!
I loved My Cousin Vinnie--I caught up on so many classic movies when I broke my leg in 2012. MCV was one I had missed, and it was a sheer delight! Would watch it again in a heartbeat.
I will post about this, but Ken and I are watching, night by night, Alfred Hitchcock's entire oeuvre. The biggest re-watch for me so far was The Birds. Although it was my third viewing, I thought Tippi Hedrin's acting was superb throughout. And wasn't it her debut film? I think, the horror aside, that it was so well crafted.
We've also so far watched Dial M for Murder with Grace Kelly, Rear Window, and Hitch's final film Family Plot, starring Bruce Dern. I had never seen it, and it had so many comedic elements. An interesting film for Hitch's swan song. We still have lots more to go. I plan to do a blog post about this project of ours.
And I think it's so great that you're now able to walk a mile! It's so aggravating that progress takes time. I still enjoy it and will keep going as long as I'm able.

I'm so sorry your knee is still giving you trouble. That must be frustrating, but I'm glad you're able to walk a little distance. I'll bet it was wonderful to get your haircut. Mine is still manageable (long and straight, so no issue), but my husband's is beginning to look a little wild. Think Albert Einstein! :)

Looks like you had a pretty good month of reading. I've only finished three books and doubt I'll add anymore to my list before the 30th. I'm looking forward to Save Me the Plums later this year. I'm still focusing on my 20 Books of Summer stacks and at the rate I'm going, I may have a lot over overflow into fall.

Take good care!Les in Oregonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15053880852764886416noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7964305665370254420.post-74863014500965261572020-06-28T18:23:32.582-04:002020-06-28T18:23:32.582-04:00A lot of reading done. As weeks go by since I've read the book, I can't help but wonder more and more what in the world the parents in that family were thinking - why they kept having children despite all the evidence that what was going on had to be at least partly genetic.

Let's hope July is a better month. Houston is regressing at a rapid pace right now as regards the virus. I honestly think it was a combination of the bars re-opening, the huge protest rallies downtown, and the fact that work weeks the media quit talking about the virus in favor of 24-7 coverage of the protests and rioting across the country.Sam https://www.blogger.com/profile/17448913705757509608noreply@blogger.com
