We're having the kids and my SIL over for brunch this morning. Can't wait to see all, but our little 21 month old cutie is what really makes me smile. Our 2 expectant moms are doing well. One is due in just 9 weeks, the other about 10 weeks after that. In just over 2 years I'll have 3 granddaughters....I can envision the Christmas cookie parties, and holidays already.
In the book arena, it seems like I'm getting my reading mojo back. I finished a few books last week
- The Dalia Lama's Cat and the Art of Purring; D. Michie - 4.5/5 (arc-eGalley)
- Gemini; Carol Cassella - 4.5/5 (arc/eGalley)
- Palisades Park; Alan Brennart 4.5/5 (audio-no review yet)
Enjoy your Sunday whatever you do today.
Anna Quindlen is always a good choice. Enjoy your brunch. I get to see my great nieces this morning because their father, a physical therapist, is going to take a look at Tucker's neck injury from yesterday's swim meet (a pinched nerve, I think). So I'll think of you playing with your granddaughter.
ReplyDeleteIt must feel good to have gotten your reading mojo back. I need to check out these books. Enjoy your brunch!
ReplyDeleteI definitely am in it only for the commercials!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on all those wonderful granddaughters! They are such a joy.
ReplyDeleteI know you will like Still Life with Bread Crumbs. I enjoyed it.

The BIG game here this weekend was SU/Duke basketball last night, but I'll still watch the Super Bowl.
ReplyDeleteHope you decide to read Still Life with Breadcrumbs. I'll be curious to hear what you think.
Just an FYI the Kitten Bowl is on the Hallmark Channel at NOON EST...not the Animal Planet :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you're getting your reading mojo back!
ReplyDeleteI'm a big football fan but my team isn't in the Super Bowl. However, I've always liked John Elway and Peyton Manning so I'll be cheering for Denver. Glad to hear you're back to reading enjoyment, and congratulations on your growing family.
ReplyDeleteGlad the reading mojo is back! I read during the game and watch the commercials. I am rooting for the Seahawks. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteWe will probably watch some Super commercials, but right now we are watching the Kitten Bowl!
ReplyDeleteThat is the best commercial ever! I love it. :) I am glad you are getting your reading mojo back!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing that adorable video. Enjoy the Super Bowl fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of the Super Bowl commercials too. I've heard such good things about Anna Quindlen's new book and heard her being interviewed on two different NPR programs this weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog--happy reading!
The Super Bowl is on right now and I'm not really glued to it. I'm more interested in Seattle's defense than anything.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a football fan, but I did watch the Kitten Bowl. Adorable.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
I also watch for the commercials - and that one with the puppy is heartbreaking! Hope you had a good bruch and got a dose of your granddaughter!
ReplyDeleteI've heard so much about that Anna Quindlen - would be interested to know what you think! Go Seahawks!
ReplyDeleteare grand babies just not THE best?!? What a fun age your granddaughter is in ~ just right for reading those great picture books and getting + giving sweet snuggles! Enjoy your evening & family!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy that Carol Cassella has a new book out - I thought Oxygen was brilliant. Adding the new Anna Quindlen to my wishlist too :D
ReplyDeleteThat Bud commercial was so sweet, as was the one about the Hero. Bud, knows how to advertise.
ReplyDeleteSome of the others were really boring though. No creativity whatsoever and what about the one for Scientology? So strange.
I can't believe your granddaughter is already 21 months old. It seem she was just born not so long ago. Time sure flies by. And two more on the way. What a blessing! Hope you enjoyed your Sunday.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and all the best for the expectant mums! I don't even have a TV at the moment (it broke and I've realised that I didn't miss it!) but my son (he is 19) invited me over to his room with the promise of chicken wings and BBQ ribs for Super Bowl. Only, here in the UK it started around midnight.
ReplyDeleteI didn't follow the Super Bowl but the Puppy Bowl is such a laugh! This is the first time I was hearing about it.
ReplyDeleteI liked Ordinary Grace (audio) as well as the new Quindlen! We had the kids over to watch the big game, commercials and Puppy Bowl.
ReplyDeleteWe're on baby watch at the moment. Our daughter is due with our 3rd grandchild (her second. Sweet Jack passed away a little over a year ago). We're thrilled and excited to meet this little girl :-) Sending all the best to the expectant moms in your family!
I just love that you are going to have 3 granddaughters so close in age. I grew up with 5 girl cousins and 2 boys on my mom's side and my aunt always made a point of group sleepovers every month or so (she's a saint) and because of that we're all still close.
ReplyDeleteThat Super Bowl was hard to watch.
