Favorite Movies - 2017

I was just thinking about why my number of books read in 2017 was so much lower than in past years and now I know.  Ever since the presidential election I've had more trouble concentrating and, less patience for just okay writing so I turned to binge watching a few series - Curb Your Enthusiasm (so good to laugh), Boardwalk Empire, The Good Doctor, and, This is Us.

I also tracked movies watched for the first time and the number was (50). Of these, (24) were "At the Movies" and, (26) were home on television (many repeats for me and many all time favorites).

  1. That's a lot of movies. We never thought of keeping a movie list. No wonder we can't remember many of them. Happy New Year from all of us.

  3. At the end of every year I think I should keep a movie list and then I always fail to do it. Maybe 2018! My mom and I go to the movies quite a bit, so I feel like I'd end up with a pretty decent list.

Gifted, Hidden Figures, and St. Vincent are some of my recent favorites, too. Watching Elf is practically a holiday tradition for me at this point. Excellent list! :)

  7. Wow! You've seen a lot of great movies this year! I really haven't gone to the theater that much this past year except for a handful of children's movies and the newest Star Wars but I've tried to get better about watching movies at home.

    1. I wanted to do that for years and never did until 2017 - I've started one for 2018 as well and off to a good start so far.

  14. I'm afraid the election had the same negative effect on my concentration and reading, and blogging too. Baby steps...trying to find the magic again. I see several movies on your list that I want to see, especially Wind River. Happy New Year, Diane!

  15. Enjoyed your list. You might enjoy these two gems: My Life As A Dog (a Swedish coming-of-age film), and Pieces of April. Both of these made my sides split. They are also both poignant.

  16. Is Something's Gotta Give the one with Diane Keaton's great house/kitchen? I actually wrote about Rev. Road a long time ago on ye olde blogge. Here, if you want to read it. At the time, I was quite pleased with the blog entry. haha.
