Saturday Snapshots - March 24th

Saturday Snapshot is hosted by http://athomewithbooks.blogspot.com/

Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don't post random photos that you find online.

In our family, every other word that comes out of one of us has something to do about the "baby"  who will be here soon. So today it seemed appropriate to show  you some photos:

Anxiously awaiting 1st grandchild
"we know it's a girl"

Handmade gifts of love by our DIL for the new baby. So far she made 5 sweaters, and an afghan, and just look at the book Woolbur -   the perfect choice as well. (Click on sweater photo to enlarge)

One Baby Shower Last Sunday and another this Sunday!

    1. Very exciting Trish. My daughter does not like traditional pinks and all pastels for babies. She loves earthy colors and stripes, polka dots etc.

  9. So excited for you. I love that shot of her round belly, and the sweaters are adorable. Your grandbaby should be warm for a couple of years. The sweaters look big, but it's hard to remember how incredibly tiny newborns are. Here's Mine I meant my blog post, not my baby!

  11. Your DIL has talent! Those sweaters are tres cute! In the Caribbean we say that if the mother's tummy is pointed and high, it's a boy and if it rides low then it's a girl. I don't know how scientific this is, though.

  15. Oh, how exciting! I remember the first grandchild and how excited I was. Each one after was also a thrill, but there's nothing like the first one.

I love how today's parents know the sex ahead of time. When I had my daughter (after three boys), I spent the whole time wishing...and, not knowing until the very minute she was born.

Great sweaters, too. Thanks for sharing.

    Here's MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT

  21. Congrats!! I just "had" my first grandchild a couple months ago. Kaye (above) is right about your DIL being talented. If you had to pay for those beautiful hand-made baby clothes, they would be really expensive! Lucky baby, and she is not even here yet!

  31. How exciting for you all - a new bub does take over family life for quite some time. And the grandparenting role is just wonderful. I loved seeing the change in my own parents when they became grandparents for the first time. It was like seeing 2 new people evolve.
