Hope everyone is having a great Sunday. It's a perfect early fall day here, the first Sunday for pro football (so happy my day is free on Sundays now). I have a pot roast going in the crock pot, a chocolate dessert just came out of the oven, and the rest of the day to read a bit, perhaps clean up the flower garden a bit and spend a few hours with my granddaughter as well. What's everyone else doing?
Why I Hate Infomercials
So my husband has been bugging me to order Cat's Meow to entertain our cats. You know $19.95 PLUS S/H and "we'll double the offer for ADDITIONAL S/H...which now brings the total to like $40+ for some cheapo gadget. I kept saying wait, it'll be in CVS or on Amazon soon for NO S/H. Well I found it on AMAZON, before there were any reviews. This toy is so cheap and lame, and not at all how it looks on television. Can't wait to post my negative review. Here is quick video of our less than thrilled cats --
Except for some cookbook reviews and a fashion book review, it's been a slow book week.
Sorry for such a short post - company has arrived! Have a good week.

I keep seeing that same infomercial and I have to say it looked neat, but I suspected it wouldn't be as good as the ad!
ReplyDeleteI had to go on YouTube to see the infomercial and I can see why you're disappointed in what you got.
ReplyDeleteWell at least your cats know not to believe that infomercial hype now... :-P
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday!
I hate infomercials, too....Your day sounds perfect, though. You had me at the pot roast and the chocolate dessert.
ReplyDeleteI've been reading and watching some movies on the DVR...we had a free weekend of HBO/Cinemax (I subscribe to the Showtime/Starz combo), so I've been recording movies right and left.
Here's MY WEEKLY SUNDAY/MONDAY UPDATES
Yep, we figured as much and that is why we didn't order one! Thanks for telling us.
ReplyDeleteI've seen this advertised - sorry it was a let down, Diane.
ReplyDeleteLove that you're enjoying Fall at your house. Here in Illinois we're still sweating, and I can only expect more with temps of 93 tomorrow and 97 on Tuesday. In my no air-conditioning classroom. Can I have a piece of your chocolate dessert?
ReplyDeleteI will have to say that our cats were more thrilled when my husband carried an old aquarium and set it on the floor. They both needed to explore and were quite afraid of what it might hold. It only has some stones and coral, so nothing for them to fear, as they learned when they jumped in. The commercial does make that toy look really fun though.
ReplyDeleteThat's happened to us too, when we bought some cheap tunnel for our dog to run under. She just cannot understand why she has to come through the tunnel when she can just stroll over to us. LOL
ReplyDeleteSounds as though you were having a perfect Sunday! I don't pay much attention to infomercials. I guess I have a deep belief in the saying "if it seems too good to be true, it probably is..."
ReplyDeleteYour post is so funny this week. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteIt was a slow week book-wise for me, too. Football, pot roast, and chocolate sounds like a perfect fall day!
ReplyDeleteWell, first of all I'd love to come over for supper, lol! That meal sure sounds delicious. One thing that video shows is that your cats are cute. I haven't had much time for reading lately. I'm looking forward to getting back home to settle down and read a good book, and you've given me a lovely list to choose from. Have a great week Diane :)
ReplyDeleteLOL @ the cats - they look confused as to what they are supposed to do with that thing. I was at a wine festival Sunday which wasn't as crowded as I expected, then I remembered - Football!
ReplyDeleteInfomercials are often too convincing!! Thanks for the warning, Diane. Your Sunday sounds like it was wonderful.
ReplyDeleteFirst a comment on the goodreads widget - I loved remembering some of the great books I have read! :)
ReplyDeleteMy son loves infomercials - funny. He finds them entertaining. I can't remember the last time I watched on though.
Have an amazing week Diane.
haha I haven't seen the infomercial, but it looks like you need to sprinkle some fresh catnip on that thing! ;)
ReplyDeleteI could totally see my cats being the same way. Of course, their favorite toy is an old plastic Easter egg with a few grains of rice in it. I'll stick to the cheap fun. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the video of your cats. So, so cute.
ReplyDeleteOccasionally we fall prey to infomercials too.
