Here's my first pick:
Title: Coincidence
Author: J.W. Ironmonger
Publisher: Harper Periennial
Pub Date: February 2014
What's it about
What determines the course of our lives? Chance . . . or destiny?
On Midsummer's Day, 1982, three-year-old Azalea Ives is found alone at a seaside fairground.
One year later, her mother's body washes up on a beach—her link to Azalea unnoticed.
On Midsummer's Day, 1992, her adoptive parents are killed in a Ugandan rebel uprising; Azalea is narrowly rescued by a figure from her past.
Terrified that she, too, will meet her fate on Midsummer's Day, Azalea approaches Thomas Post, an expert in debunking coincidences. Azalea's past, he insists, is random—but as Midsummer's Day approaches, he worries that she may bring fate upon herself.

Sound like a book you might add to your wish list?
(Feel free to join me next Thursday, I'll be adding a Mr. Linky)
Poor Azalea. That sounds like a gut wrenching book.
ReplyDeleteI know, but I'm a sucker for sad books:)
DeleteThis is a great idea! There are a few books that I absolutely can't wait for in 2014. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jonita -- feel free to join in next week.
DeleteLove this idea. That book though... doesn't sound like my thing. The visual of the fairground and an abandoned kid caught my interest though.
ReplyDeleteI can see this feature adding to my TBR. ;)
ReplyDeleteI know, mine too:)
DeleteThis sounds like a book I need to read! Adding it to my tbr list.
ReplyDeleteGlad you like the sound of it as well.
DeleteI used to do this, but haven't in a very long time. I think I will join you. :)
ReplyDeletePlease do:)
DeleteThis does sound good!
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of your new feature, Diane! It'll be good for my wishlist, but not so much my wallet. ;-)
Isn't that the truth --longer TBR list and hey, we can always try the library?
DeleteThat does sound like a book I'd read!
ReplyDeleteGreat - we'll compare notes.
DeleteOh yes, I want to know what happens to Azalea. Nice feature.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nise.
DeleteInteresting new feature! I have no idea which books are coming soon to the bookstores near me--how do I find out?
ReplyDeleteI get publications like Library Journal and Book List to keep my informed.
DeleteIt sounds more like a mystery to me! yes from me.
ReplyDeleteThat does sound like an interesting book. And this is a great new Feature idea. I love it.
ReplyDeleteHadn't heard of this one and will watch for your review when you get a chance to read it.
ReplyDeleteFun new feature. The book sounds interesting and I love the author's name -- Ironmonger.
ReplyDeleteThis is a big bonus for me since many of my books read come from your blog (whoop). I like to post a 'books I can't wait to read' post once a month (or two sometimes)...
ReplyDeleteExcited for this addition (and this book sounds good). Have a lovely weekend!
Oh this one does sound good!
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about this one! I thought this plot sounded great!
ReplyDeleteWow! That sounds like it might be a really sad book but it also sounds like one I might like.
ReplyDeleteI agree, that sounds like a great plot!
ReplyDeleteSounds fun! (your new feature, not the plot of the book, although that sounds like something I would love to read). I just wish I were as organized as you, and could link up every week. I'll do what I can.
ReplyDeleteNothing sad for me! But I love the new weekly post idea! Looking forward to each Thursday!
