Morning Readers. Sitting here with my second cup of coffee and watching the weather channel -- possible blizzard here Monday evening through Tuesday, and we just got 4" of snow yesterday. I was just bragging about what a mild winter we've had:) I actually LOVE snow, when I just can sit home and watch it from the comfort of my home.
It's been a fast week -- work-wise as we had Monday off. I finished a few books (some were started a few weeks ago) -- The Girl on the Train; Paula Hawkins (very good debut) -- Calling Me Home; Julie Kilber (very good) and The Tiny Wife; Andrew Kaufman (a quirky short book which I really liked). Now, I just need to motivate myself to write about them -- ughhhhh

Little Ones
Left to Right - Potty Trained Princess; 6-toothed cutie and adorable snow baby
Have a Great Week Everyone
The little ones looks so cute and adorable!! I wish we get some good snow - we haven't had any big ones yet, though they usually come between Jan and Mar, when everyone is completely sick of the winter.
ReplyDeleteAthira --- I'll be have some snow trucked in on your behalf LOL
DeleteThank you for the sweet comments and I am so happy for you as well.
The little people are precious! At least if you get all that snow, you'll have ample time to read your new collection of books. ;-)
ReplyDeleteKristen -- thank you. I plan to have a reading fest tomorrow as work is canceled.
DeleteWe don't get much snow and in general I don't mind it if I can stay inside and look at it. I have a 5 year old and he believes that snow is for playing in. I'm so excited about The Girl in the Train. Love the pics! Yay for the potty trained Princess! That's always so nice to get out of the way. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteKatherine, I really don't mind lots of snow as long as I don't have to drive in a blizzard. Thanks for your lovely comments.
DeleteThose little ones always make us smile! Be careful with that blizzard thing, I hear they are not very friendly.
ReplyDeleteWe are hunkered down Brian; it has begun.
DeleteCalling Me Home was an audio favorite a couple of years ago and I just finished West of Sunset last week. So glad to be missing this latest round of winter -hope you stay warm. The little ones are adorable!
ReplyDeleteHi JoAnn, I did enjoy Calling Me Home, but it won't be an all-time favorite. Enjoy FL while we suckers take in the 2 feet of snow -- it has begun.
DeleteLove your mailbox. I have two of the books I am eager to start. Keep warm and safe the next few days of stormy weather.
ReplyDeleteHarvee
Book Dilettante
Thank you Harvee, I am ready to hibernate and read for a few days.
DeleteHow was The Girl on the Train? I'm kind of intrigued by it.
ReplyDeleteNikki, I liked Girl on the Train -- review coming soon.
DeleteYour littles are precious! Know you are so proud of them. Good luck in the snow. Not something I like. Never like seeing it here in Texas. We just can't do snow and ice. 100+ degrees - no problem. LOL
ReplyDeleteOh Kay, thank you for stopping by and for taking the time to comment on our little girls.
DeleteYeah, we have been watching the weather, too. I am thinking if we sneak out to the store tonight maybe it won't be so bad....
ReplyDeleteKailana, stay safe as well. I hit the store yesterday for food and now the snow has begun.
Deleteyou should hit me! I was so disappointed that Michigan is not going to get that storm! Be safe!! The babies are adorable!
ReplyDeleteCaren, you got to be kidding?? LOL I don't mind the snow as long as I am indoors and fingers crossed we do not lose power with the high winds. Thx and the baby comments:) Have a great week.
DeleteI can't wait for "Girl Before a Mirror"! You're so lucky! Happy Sunday :)
ReplyDeleteI was surprised to get, Girl Before a Mirror, as it wasn't one on my wish list -- hope it's good tho.
DeleteI love the little snow bundle baby. How cute! I think the blizzard will just glance by--maybe a few inches. I hope it's not too bad.
ReplyDeleteHeidi, I hope you don't get a lot of snow; we on the other hand, are expected to get 2-feet.
DeleteThe babies are adorable!
ReplyDeleteThe winter weather is missing us here in Wisconsin. I don't know whether to be grateful or upset. I hope the storm skips past you and that you don't get even more snow.
Have a great week!
Michelle, we are getting hit big-time, it's begun and suppose to be the biggest blizzard in 100 years.
DeleteOkay, I thought I was the only one who had to motivate myself to write the reviews...You got some great books! I'm jealous. Absolutely.
ReplyDeleteOh your grandkids are just sooo kissable. Yum!
Laura -- yes, writing reviews are like a part-time job for zero pay:) Thank you for the kiddie comments -- they make life such fun.
DeleteGreat haul of books! I have read Labor Day, but I have not seen the movie. It's on Netflix Instant Streaming now so perhaps I will soon. :)
ReplyDeleteCynthia -- yes try Labor Day, I think you might enjoy it. Have a great week.
DeleteWonderful photos Diane. I saw Labor Day and enjoyed it. It looks like you've read some good books lately and have a lot of good new ones to choose from. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteThank you Pat for your comments on our girls. I liked Labor Day way more than I expected to. I thought it would be a sappy romance, but was so surprised by the scope of it.
DeleteThe little ones are so cute!
ReplyDeleteBlizzards everywhere and we are supposed to get some rain. I thought we would be sunny all week but I guess I was wrong.
I just picked up The Girl on the Train! Haven't started it yet as I have more ARCs to get to first.
Thanks Ti.
DeleteGirl on the Train is good, but you must read Bones & All; DeAngelis, loving it and think you will as well.
I just finished Girl on the Train - really liked it (but not love!). And I was disappointed with West of Sunset - had such promise, but was kind of blah.
ReplyDeleteBattening down for the blizzard today as well - good luck!
Me too Sarah -- liked Girl on the Train, but did not love it. Same with Calling Me Home.
DeleteStay safe in NY
Of course, I like books, and snow (the look of it, anyway), but the little ones steal the show! They are so unbelievably cute! Stay safe from the snow storms.
ReplyDeleteSuko -- thank you, they are now all at an age where they are such fun, discovering new things.
DeleteWe do plan to be snowbound for a few days, in fact they closed the college and all businesses around here for tomorrow.
Oh my goodness, those little ones are so CUTE! I remember the first time my daughter was out in the snow with her snowsuit - maybe at 7 months old. She was not amused, lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading The Girl on the Train right now. So far, so good!
Diana, thank you -- it is funny at that age, not sure what to make of that white-fluff.
DeleteAw, your little ones are too cute! I hope they are able to enjoy the snow!
ReplyDeleteAw thanks Stacy -- one got an LL Bean old fashioned sled for Christmas and the oldest one loves the snow like most kids.
DeleteWe were lucky yesterday/today - just about 10".
Your grandchildren are adorable! I am reading Girl in Mirror now - not sure I like it as much as others I have read by the author but it is keeping my attention. Hope you are doing OK with the blizzard today - it didn't come to much in the city in the end but I hear it is worse up in New England. Stay safe and warm!
ReplyDeleteThank you Colleen, they are so much fun. Yes we were lucky here too -- close to a foot, but Boston got buried.
DeleteLove the photos, Diane. :-)
ReplyDeleteI envy your snow days, but given what I do, I know I'd have to work anyway. Besides, I'm not much for cold weather.
Have a great week!
Thank you Wendy -- it was nice to have classes canceled today and have some time home to read, relax and bake cookies.
DeleteI've been wanting to check out The Girl on the Train. Hang in there if you get hit by more snow!!!
ReplyDeleteI am finishing up the Unlikley Pilgrimage of Hsrold Fry and will start the sequel next week. In the steam bath like climate in which I live, your pictures look beautiful and surreal
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, look how fast your girls are growing! What cuties!
