Our Fathers; Rebecca Wait
Europa - 2020
"If she had survived, Katrina would have said what people always say: that it had been a day like any other. That everything was normal. She might have said, too, how strange it was that you only noticed normality after it ended, that by its nature it was invisible as long as you were in it."
I read an excellent review on this book and was surprised to see that everyone else that reviewed it seemed to feel the same way. I'm hoping I will be happy I read it."
Curious? Read more or pass?
Ooh, love the sound of this one, and how true it is about not noticing "normal" until it ends. Sort of like our world just before the Pandemic hit!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week, and thanks for visiting my blog.
I hope you like it, sounds good from the intro!
ReplyDeleteI am curious...and would keep reading because I find that Europa publishes great books.
ReplyDeleteNice hook right there in the book's first few words. I would find it difficult not to keep reading this one because not doing so would leave me wondering what happened to the character.
ReplyDeleteInteresting beginning. I know that feeling of not realizing the last moment of normalcy so I'm curious to see where this goes.
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard about this one but it does sound like a good read.
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued and the theme of "normal" seems apt for our current situation.
ReplyDeleteSounds a bit somber to me. Right now I think I'll give it a miss.
