After the Storm
Here a a few photos taken yesterday (January 12th), after 18" of new snow fell around here. Work was canceled and schools are closed again today for the second day in a row. We have a late (10am) opening at work today, which was a nice surprise, even though I did get up at 5:30am as usual. I love the snow as long as I can stay home and enjoy it.

Looks beautiful! We have about a foot of new snow here.... I wish I had snowshoes.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so nice. The snow has abandoned us for torrential rain.
ReplyDeleteWOW! We only had 7 inches of snow, y'all win!!! Keep plenty warm everyone!!!
ReplyDeleteHow color coordinated your kitties and that door rug are! lol... I love that b&w of your kitty.
ReplyDeleteThe cats have the right idea! Stay toasty warm. It's mighty cold even in FL this morning.
ReplyDeleteWe never get snow, so that looks so nice, peaceful, and a day off wouldn't be so bad either! Enjoy the late start work day.
ReplyDeleteWe had a storm come through here on Monday and schools are still out. It warms up during the day and freezes at night, so we've got an icy mess on our hands. Can you tell I'm not enjoying it?
ReplyDeleteI now will quit complaining about my 6 inches of snow! I think Libby and Freckles have the right idea. They look so cozy!
ReplyDeleteI heard yesterday the 49 of the 50 states had snow on the ground. All except where we are in FL!
ReplyDeleteTexas had snow, but not as far south as Austin. We're cold but dry. I'm glad as we more often get ice storms, which are a mess. Your kitties look content.
ReplyDeleteSo far, the blizzards have missed us and we got maybe 2-3 inches. There is another chance this weekend though!
ReplyDeleteWe had 18 inches down here too...and now the sun is out and it all looks beautiful
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous photos of your cats and the snow! Cats are so smart. They know where to go for warmth. My cat (and dog, too) go into the sunniest room on cold days.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy your "snow day", Diane.
Libby and Freckles know where to be.
ReplyDelete18 inches!!! OMG!! Wish you could have stayed home today.
ReplyDeleteHope you drive safely! Please be careful out there.
Your "babies" are totally adorable!
18" -- wow! Are your cats curious about the snow?
ReplyDeleteWinter weather and fire photos seem to be a trend this week!
ReplyDeleteI didn't remember to get one of my kitty, though - although I think he enjoyed us being home to snuggle up and keep him company for a few days.
I'm in upstate New York, where heavy snowfall is the norm, but yesterday was ridiculous! It never stopped!
ReplyDeleteThat snow is incredible! I would love to be one of those cats curled up by the fire.
ReplyDeleteOh I love your cats! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI must agree, your feline friends look so cozy. I would love to spend a snow day curled up in front of a fire with some furry cuddles.
ReplyDeleteAfter they plowed your driveway??? I don't see anything even CLOSE to a driveway in that photo!
ReplyDeleteTotally jealous of your fireplace and the picture perfect kitties. Love them!
ReplyDeleteWould you think I am weird if I said I am jealous of all of the snow that you got?? I just love a good snowstorm...although I hate driving in it :)
ReplyDeleteOy, that's a lot of snow! Love the cat looking out the door though, mine does the same thing :)
ReplyDeleteWow.. 18 inches! Maybe I should move to a New England state! Stay warm and cozy!
ReplyDeleteWhoa! I don't miss that about living in New England! Beautiful as long as you don't have to go out in it. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI want a snow day! Without the hassle of snow, though. ;-)
ReplyDeleteGosh, I have never seen snow fall at all. At least I don't remember it.
ReplyDeleteHow sensible of Libby and Freckles, the only place to be on a day like this is in front of the fire.
ReplyDeleteOh...I love that big orange and white kitty. Is that Freckles? He looks like a love.
ReplyDeleteThat's the same there although we've gotten a bit more snow than you have. They are finally grating our front street and using semis to haul the snow away. lol. I wish they closed things down here when there is snow but no such luck. Hope you're staying safe in all that mess.
ReplyDeletesadly, we only got a few inches.
ReplyDeletemost people around here may not agree that is sad though...
Wow, that is amazing. I want to go jump in it...with my mouth open. Then, I'm sure I'll want to take a hot shower and have a cup of hot chocolate.
ReplyDeleteWe got maybe a foot! The cats match 'their' rug perfectly. :<)
ReplyDeleteIt snowed here last Sunday. We didn't get as much as you did, but we enjoyed staying home and watching football. Well, Darren and I enjoyed it. Claire got pretty restless by the end of the day...
ReplyDeleteIt all looks so pretty but cold! Hope you are staying warm over there :)
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo! Snow Day for Diane and her kitties! Love them by the fire...
ReplyDeleteYour snow is beautiful and your cats are so cute! I'm glad we didn't get much snow. We had a light dusting with a thin sheet od ice on top.
ReplyDeleteWe only had about 7 inches of the fluffy stuff, but it was enough to cancel school for two days.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you -- I LOVE snow when I can stay home in front of the fireplace and enjoy it.
Oh my goodness, that photo with all the snow at your doorstep is amazing! Although it is good to snuggle up indoors huh? Your cats look cute too :)
ReplyDelete18" of snow and you only get one day off and a late start?! Dang, your roads crews must be exceedingly efficient.
ReplyDeleteHello to all your cats! And Hello to you too, Diane! No luck with any snow here. Ever. LOL
ReplyDeleteThe cats totally have the right idea!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is a heck of a lot of snow you got there! I think your cats are very smart to stay by the fire!
ReplyDeleteLove your cats! So cute!
