Both of my brothers have passed away: (Ron-left in 2009) and (Jim-right in 2006). Today would have been Ron's 69th birthday, so posting this photo seemed appropriate. Photo was taken about 10 year's ago at Jim's home.

Saturday Snapshot - January 22
Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Alyce @ At Home With Books. To participate in the Saturday Snapshot meme post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken then leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. No random photos that you find online.

Thanks for sharing, Diane. I love how photos can capture moments and bring back memories.
ReplyDeleteRemembering a departed loved one's birthday is one of those nostalgic moments.
Thanks for visiting my Saturday Snapshot.
Thanks for sharing the picture with us. I'm sure today is a sad day for you. I'm sending hugs your way.
ReplyDeleteDiane,
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice photo - and I am sure it keeps your memories alive ... even on days that can be sad.
Thinking of you...
Sending a hug your way today....
ReplyDeleteThey both died so young!
ReplyDeleteWhat a poignant photo on this sad anniversary--we are lucky that we have the technology to capture such moments so that they can be more easily recalled and treasured.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this with us. Old photos can be so bittersweet.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely photo, Diane.
ReplyDeleteAwww...hugs to you...thankful for photographs that can keep our loved ones with us forever.
ReplyDeleteLaurel, Kathy, Sara, JoAnn, Iowa, Jane, Alyce, Yvonne, and Peppermint PHD....Thanks so much for the sweet words. Some days are tougher than others, when we just seem to long for what we once had. HUGS back to you all.
ReplyDeleteSad and happy... that's how I feel when I look at old photos of family that are no longer with us. Sad they are gone but happy I have the photo to trigger a pleasant memory from when it was taken.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo, thank you for sharing.
A poignant photo, thank you for sharing it with us
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your loss. I do not have siblings but can imagine the grief of losing them. Big hugs to you.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this picture with us. I agree today is a good day to do it.
I am so sorry you have lost both of your brothers...sooo young, that is so sad.
ReplyDeleteThat was a wonderful photo.
Can I ask a really stupid question? I am asking you because you know me better than other blogs that i follow that use the same term but what does "meme" mean???? I see it everywhere and I bet I just gave everyone a good laugh by asking that question! :)
It's a nice picture that I imagine is a comfort. Thanks for sharing, Diane.
ReplyDeleteCat....the term "meme" is used for a type of post that appears on multiple blogs on the same day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the nice comment about my brothers.
Leslie, Sari, Helen and Mary --thanks for taking the time to comment on this somewhat sad day. It means a lot to me.
thank you!!! But the "meme" must mean something?
ReplyDeleteSending you a hug Diane. Thank you for sharing the picture and a bit more about you with us.
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful photo. It's nice that you have it. I expect looking at it is probably difficult and sad for you right now. I hope you are doing okay this weekend. Please take care of yourself.
