I've caved to ITalong pressure ---hey, who can resist a horror-fest and a few nightmares as a result? After years (25+) since reading Stephen King, IT will be my 5th SKing book in (12) months --I'm hooked once again. (This is one I never read for some reason so although I'm behind most of you, hope to download the eBook this weekend and get reading.
Here are some details about the ITalong, I copied from another post:

ReplyDeleteBetter you than me! I can't read King or horror - I'm too spooked. But have fun!
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of this meme or this King book. An evil clown...spooky.
ReplyDeleteGood luck! I'm way too jumpy to read horror!
ReplyDeleteIt's so fun to readalong these King books! I'm hooked as well. I never in a million years thought I would read IT.
ReplyDeleteI've mostly seen movies based on his books...I did read his newest one (11-22-63), but it wasn't a horror story. IT and clowns scare me!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
'Who can resist?' ME! I was scared as a kid by scary books and movies, and have learned my own imagination is way too strong. :<)
ReplyDeleteI caved too.
ReplyDeleteI have It and need to read it, too. I've signed up for The Stephen King Project and hope to read this book, eventually!
ReplyDeleteThat dude is spooky cool!
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this book apart from the ending. As you've never read it before, you're in for a treat!
ReplyDeleteIf it was any other Stephen King book I could probably be tempted to join in. My fear of clowns needs no help at this point though. :) Have fun with the readalong!
ReplyDeleteYippee!! Glad to have you in the clown car with us!
ReplyDeleteI'm joining in too!
ReplyDeleteIt will be a lot of fun but I still prefer to avoid clowns! LOL
ReplyDeleteAh, you're braver than I...there are only a few King novels I've ever been able to finish. This wasn't one of them. However, I am reading his 11/22/63 (or whatever that title is about JFK's assassination) this November. That should be interesting! Good luck with your read.
ReplyDeleteI had much fun doing the Standalong, so I'm sure you'll have fun with the Italong!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite non-short-story Stephen King.
ReplyDeleteI caved too, Diane! As if I don't have enough on my reading plate, but I can't resist at least trying. And I've been wanting to read It for a long time. I'm really going to be getting my Stephen King on because I'm also hosting my EPIC Dark Tower read-a-long over at my Stephen King Challenge blog. The entire Dark Tower series from Sept through July of next year!
ReplyDeleteI'm participating in #italong over at my horror blog, Castle Macabre. I thought it was a perfect fit. ;O)
I read 2/3 of IT in high school until my mother found it and confiscated it. I had borrowed it from a friend so... oops. Plus, it was 10X scarier, not knowing how it ended, so I don't know that my mother accomplished what she'd hoped with taking it away! Never did get around to finishing it, but I liked what I read.
ReplyDeleteI'm embarrassed to say that I didn't understand IT-along until I read your post and saw the King reference. ha! Enjoy your nightmares :)
ReplyDeleteps: love the bew header
I joined too, and will be beginning this week.
ReplyDeleteThe button is terrifying!
