First Chapter First Paragraph Tuesday Intros - Something in the Water; Catherine Steadman

Each Tuesday, Vicki, from I’d Rather Be At The Beach hosts First Chapter First Paragraph Tuesday Intros where  readers post the opening paragraph (sometime two) of a book that they are reading or plan to read.

The Grave

"Have you ever wondered how long it takes to dig a grave? Wonder no longer. It takes an age.  However long you think it takes, double  that."

What do you think"?  (I just started this and read over 100 pages in a blink of an eye - very addictive story)

  1. Yes, I can see how this would be something very addictive. I never thought about how long it would take to dig a grave. Happily, it's not something I've had to personally do. Ha!

    1. I've only dug a pet's grave, not difficult but, certainly not a happy time.

  10. If the tone of the opening continues I can see how it could be a quick read. Susan shares a book from the Great American Reads list at Girl Who Reads

  13. It's a great intro...The fact that you read about 100 pages in the blink of an eye is a sign to the power of the story. Looking forward to your review. ;-)

  14. Oh I like that beginning and that it pulled you in enough that you flew through 100 pages without realizing it!
