VIV
"The night it all ended, Vivian was alone.
That was fine with her. She preferred it. It was something she'd discovered, working the night shift at this place in the middle of nowhere: Being with people was easy, being alone was hard. Especially being alone in the dark. The person who could truly be alone, in the company of no one but oneself and one's own thoughts--that person was stronger than anyone else. More ready. More prepared."
What do you think, read more or pass? This one's been on my radar for a bit - hope to begin it this week.
I have seen so many good things about this book. I would keep going
ReplyDeleteI love the cover and I wanto know what is meant by "it all ended".
ReplyDeleteI hope this is a good one--I have a copy of it too. Will be interested in knowing what you think after you've read it.
ReplyDeleteI like the beginnings and I like the slightly old fashioned cover too.
ReplyDeleteOh, I have been eyeing this one, and now I'm in! Thanks for the great excerpt...and for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteWe would read more to see what's up with Vivian.
ReplyDeleteI've got this book to read at some point before long. I read The Broken Girls and liked it a lot. Hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI loved this book! Lots of creepy goodness.
ReplyDeleteThis one sounds so good. I've read this author before and enjoyed the book very much. This looks just as good.
ReplyDeleteI abandoned this one. I loved The Broken Girls, but this one didn't work for me.
ReplyDeleteHmmm not too sure tbh. I like the cover though so probably would carry on with it...

I've heard good things about this author and this book so I'd definitley keep reading!
ReplyDeleteI think it's a good opening. It has me intrigued. Keep going!
ReplyDeleteIt's an interesting enough opener, I think. I'd give it my usual 25 pages before making a final read/no-read decision.
