Tuesday Teasers - June 16th

Miz B and Teaser Tuesdays asks you to:
Grab your current read.
Let the book fall open to a random page.
Share with us two (2) sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!

Here is my teasers -- ---"Here at the convent my rules are only to do with discipline and prayers. I work, but my work is between me and my cloth and thread".

(p.93) A Disobedient Girl: A Novel; Ru Freeman (review copy)

(so far I am enjoying this book)

Follow up - our Philadelphia Trip

Our trip to PA was pretty much the trip from HELL. A (1) hour flight turned into circling the skies for (4) hours because of bad weather in Philadelphia. Then we began to run out of fuel so we had to land in Baltimore, MD and re-fuel then up in the skies once again. We finally landed at 7PM having arrived at the airport at 10AM. (the flights were really bumpy plus (2) terrible landings as well). Pretty nerve wracking to say the least.

Sunday at Phillies Citizen Park Stadium was fun. It is a gorgeous baseball park, and perfect weather. It was a great exciting game, but the Phiilies beat our Boston Red Sox :(

The final bummer of the trip was when I asked the people we were with to take a photo of the (2) of us at the ballpark with my IPHONE and she dropped it on concrete!!!! Yes....I now need a new IPHONE (you can't insure these either).

We did have some great meals and got to see family too, but we were never so happy to get home. I've always been a homebody, but now more than ever I plan to stay put for a while.

  1. Oh what a bummer. Did she even offer to help pay for new phone? Plane trip - hopefully you had some books with you to kill the time circling.

  7. I'm sorry your trip wasn't better, Diane. That flight sure sounds like a nightmare. And then to have someone drop your iPhone . . . Argh!

Thank you for the teaser! I am not familiar with the book at all, but it sounds interesting. I'll be curious to know what you think of it when you finish reading it.

  8. When I lived in Boston, back in the 70s, it only took one trip home (by air) to the Philadelphia area to make me realize that I was better off driving.....and that was before plane travel became the mess it is today!
