  21. Mine are Salt: A World History by Mark Kurlansky; The Know-It-All by A.J. Jacobs (He reads the encyclopedia from cover to cover and writes entertaining anecdotes); Factory Girls by Leslie T. Chang (She chronicles China's 130 million migrant workers who leave their home town to work in the big manufacturing centres.)
