Mailbox Monday - May 31, 2010

Mailbox Monday is hosted by Marcia @ The Printed Page.  Join in the fun and check out what arrived in everyone's mailboxes last week by visiting Marcia's blog.

The covers are really beautiful on the six books above. Many seem like great summer reads.

This week started feeling like Christmas, as most of these books arrive on the same days.

  4. Wow, maybe that's why I got zero books last week - the postal people were too busy at your house! :--)

  5. Oh, I'm scribbling away here, writing down some of these titles! I have a Claire Cook book on my stacks...now I don't remember which one. I'll have to check my document! (Am I ever glad I created that, BTW!)

Lowcountry Summer sounds wonderful, too, as do several others.

    Enjoy!

    Thanks for visiting my blog.

  8. I got three books in the mail this week - bought all of them through AbeBooks.com

HOUSE DREAMS: How One Man's Vision Became a Family Home by Hugh Howard. I am a sucker for books about home building and this sounds intriguing.

THE LONGEST DAY by Cornelius Ryan. And old book about D-Day by an Irish journalist who spent years researching this book. I just read an article about his research methods and that got me interested in reading the book. I saw the movie before we went to Normandy in 2008 and have read that the movie was very true to the book and the history.

HOUSE JUSTICE by Mike Lawson, the 5th in the series of Joe DiMarco thrillers. I read the other four in the last couple of months, got hooked and could not wait for the latest book to come to me via the library. A friend and I split the cost and after we read it, which will not be long, we will donate it to the library.

  11. The Seven Year Switch! great title (which I misread at first, even recalling the movie...!)

Looking at book titles is as appetizing (and even more interesting) than reading a menu at a good restaurant. I'm headed over to "Meg's" to see what this is all about.
    Thanks!

  15. I'm jealous of your copy of Stories! I spent about twenty minutes at the bookstore the other day looking everywhere for it before I bothered to pull it up on my iPhone and see that it doesn't come out for a couple more weeks. ;)
