This month's Mailbox Monday is being hosted by Kathy-Bermudaonion
- Nutcracker; Eta Hoffman - Maurice Sendak (thank you Crown)
- If You Spent a Day with Thoreau on Walden Pond; Robert Burleigh and Wendell Minor (sent by the illustrator)
- The Panther; Nelson DeMille audiobook (thank you Hachette)
- NYPD Red; James Patterson Audiobook (thank you Hachette)
- A Christmas Home; Greg Kincaid (thank you Crown)
The book about Thoreau gives me hope. I have a handout for my college students that lists information and I ask them if the information is common knowledge or if they'd have to cite it. Thoreau is on there and most of them have never heard of him. I tell them it's a generational difference. I think most people my age read Thoreau in school.
ReplyDeleteNice mailbox, Diane. The Sendak Nutcracker has been a favorite in my house for years!
ReplyDeleteNice mix of books! Nutcracker puts me in the mood for Christmas. Enjoy! Here’s my Mailbox Post.
ReplyDeleteNice mix....ENJOY all your new reads!!

Believe it or not, I've never read a Nelson DeMille book. I keep saying I will but maybe if I had one of his audio books it would be easier. Enjoy your new titles!
ReplyDeleteGreat mailbox...now I'm wanting to start thinking of Christmas! And the James Patterson book looks kind of good. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteHere's MY MONDAY MEMES POST

ReplyDeleteMy brother loves the James Patterson books - I have to let him know there is a new one out!
ReplyDeleteNice diversity, Diane. Enjoy your new reads. Looking forward to your thoughts on DeMille's latest.
ReplyDeleteSomehow it seems too early for Christmas books for me. Then I look at the calendar and panic. ;-)
ReplyDeleteCool mailbox! I am giving away a copy of A Christmas Home tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteGreat stack of books! I am going to look for the Nutcracker book for my permanent shelf. And all the rest have been added to my list as well.

I am a sucker for a book with a dog on the cover and labs are my favorite! ;o).
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your holiday reads! I've been in the mood to read some myself. Yay for audiobooks too!
ReplyDeleteI received The Nutcracker, too - it's a family tradition!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your books! I'm really intrigued by the one about Thoreau. I've always wondered what it would be like to get away from all of the distractions and go to a place like Walden Pond.
ReplyDeleteLovely books! Nutcracker is beautiful, and I am especially interested in the Thoreau book. Great selections, Diane!
ReplyDeleteLooks like some nice grandkid books there!! Enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteFun books! Nelson DeMille is one of the few thriller authors whose writing I really enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHey, I got the Greg Kincaid and The Nutcracker too! They both look like great books. You received a bunch of good ones. Enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteI had a chance to go to Walden Pond a couple years ago. It was such a peaceful place!
ReplyDeleteSo glad I found you via our cat friend Brian. We received two from Crown and currently doing the A Home for Christmas giveaway.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the reads!
ReplyDeleteI finished Nutcracker yesterday, and I loved it. It wasn't a story I had ever read before, and I'm kicking myself for that lack of foresight. I'm getting ready to start on A Christmas Home, so here's hoping we both like it. Hope you are having a great week.
ReplyDeleteI'd be curious to hear who they picked to narrate The Panther! They'd have to get someone who fits my idea of John Corey -- I'd know if I heard it. I should go check out a sample on Audible to hear it!
ReplyDeleteI received The Nutcracker too. It's a beautiful book isn't it?
