April was a very good reading month for me. I read (15) books and posted short reviews for them as well. I was pretty happy that I got to a good number of newer books sent to me for review. (49 books YTD.
I did give up on, 3 books early on, chocking these up to my DNF list for 2019:
- NOSA42; Joe Hill (April) - animal cruelty
- The Hunting Game; Helene Tursten (April) animal cruelty
- The Italian Wife; Ann Hood (April) just boring
In April my armchair travels took me to some of the same countries it seemed: Germany, England, and a few new ones too: Amalfi Coast and Scottish Highlands. I also traveled to California, New York and Florida within the US.I did give up on, 3 books early on, chocking these up to my DNF list for 2019:

Ladder was so good! 5 stars for me.
ReplyDeleteApril was a great month for you! We have some overlap in May. I'm hoping to read Henry, Himself and really enjoyed Women in Sunlight last year... it the next best thing to an Italian vacation. Maybe I'll even have time for Daisy Jones.
ReplyDeleteGreat job with 15 books read. Happy May!
ReplyDeleteGood number of books read, and high quality too, based on your ratings. I'm curious on what you think on The River and Daisy Jones...
ReplyDeleteThat was a pretty interesting reading April!
ReplyDeleteApril was an awesome reading month for you! I have not read any of the books on your April reading list.
ReplyDeleteI am hearing good things about Daisy Jones and the Six; I hope you like it
ReplyDeleteI've had that Joe Hill on my TBR for ages but I think I'll skip it. I can't handle animal cruelty in books. Looks like you had some fantastic reading to make up for it!
ReplyDeleteGreat month! I must get to A Ladder to the Sky.
ReplyDeleteI really liked INHERITANCE. It asks some really interesting questions about family and identity. Glad you enjoyed it, too!
ReplyDeleteI, too, loved A Ladder to the Sky. Such a wonderfully written tale! I'm sorry Ann Hood's book (The Italian Wife) wasn't worthwhile, though. I really enjoy her writing. I'm very excited about Henry, Himself. I loved Emily, Alone and plan to read it again soon.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to read Ladder in the Sky and the Immortalist from your list. I'm just finishing The River now so I won't read your review until I finish it tomorrow likely
