It's been a total bomb of a week, culminating in a week of sever upper back spasms. Let's see:
- personal stress over several weeks (not health related)
- bank fraud (a skimming device at my banks drive up resulted in my drained bank account) $$ refunded, but the hassle of police reports and inconvenience - more than 30 people were affected by the incident it appeared
- Tuesday, a health related stressor, a loved one had a tumor removed, not sure yet whether it's cancer but they did remove ALL of it and we are hopeful. It was a 4.5 hour robotic-assisted surgery; recovering well.
- unable to exercise or go to yoga all week because of my back so stress continues
- running back and forth to help loved one
- my daughter's 2014 Subaru found her and the girls broken down in 5 o'clock traffic on a 4-lane bridge (it was dark out too) with 2 screaming , terrified children and rude motorists honking their cars as if she chose to park her car in the middle of a bridge in high traffic. 911 call and local police assisted and took them to safety after about 15 minutes.
- yesterday, my daughter and her husband and the girls came to visit with their other car a brand new Subaru and around 5 o'clock (yep, dark out again) it was parked behind my husband's car and our 81 year old neighbor backed his Lexus SUV out of his garage without looking and caused(what looks like) over $2,000 damage to their new car! Talk about a bad few car days!
- today my back is finally much better so hope I can get back to yoga tomorrow as it's a great stress reliever
- Here's to a Better Week!
- I suck at the NF November Challenge - finished the Queen Meryl book but, haven't felt like reading much. I don't think it will improve much with me hosting Thanksgiving next week, I haven't read much of anything as I haven't been able to focus. I also have 3-4 reviews to do.
- Looking forward to Thanksgiving and family togetherness because in the scheme of things - we've got a lot to be thankful for!

What a week you've all had! The car issues alone are enough to stress you out, but in addition to all the other stuff? I'm so sorry and hope your family member gets good news about the tumor. I also hope your back is feeling better.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Helen; I appreciate your concern.
DeleteWell, all of that sucks hard! Mercury is in fact in retrograde until the 20th. We always joke about that in our family because my ex was firmly convinced in its power to mess up one's life. Only three more days to go! The picture books all look great! Did you see my post on the Caldecott winners of the 1990s? http://keepthewisdom.blogspot.com/2019/11/a-decade-of-caldecott-medal-winners.html
ReplyDeleteHere's to a better week for you, Diane.
OMG Judy, I was not aware of that - thanks for sharing; that MUST BE IT! I need to share with my family! I'll check out your Caldecott post - I missed it.
DeleteThat is a lot to have to deal with all at once, Diane. Sending hugs your way. My great aunt was due to have surgery next week to have an aneurysm taken care of, but it's been postponed because she now has pneumonia. We're all worried about her. Her partner has early stage Alzheimer's and they really rely on each other. They live out of state and not near any family. It's been stressful all around.
ReplyDeleteI am glad your back is feeling better. I suffer from back spasms now and then and, oh my gosh, are they awful. I feel for you.
Those are indeed lovely books! I hope you enjoy them all, Diane. And have a Happy Thanksgiving. We have no plans. My husband has Thanksgiving Day off, but has to work the rest of the week. I was able to get the week off, and so Mouse and I will be getting some things around the house done that have been neglected--and to prepare for company come her show time. Right now I need to get myself together for the theater. We are going to see one of Mouse's friends perform in a Frozen Jr musical. Take care of yourself!
Sending positive vibes to your family and great aunt; I hope all goes well. Enjoy you Thanksgiving and time with Mouse and Spouse LOL
DeleteOh my, that was a terrible week for you! You had stress coming from all different directions. I'm glad your bank stuff has been resolved and I hope your relative is cancer free.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy; I appreciate the well wishes.
DeleteOh goodness, that wasn't just a bad week...it was a terrible week! I hope all of that is in the past and that only good and wonderful things are coming your way this week. I especially pray that your loved one's cancer is completely gone and that your back is healed and working well.
ReplyDeleteLook at all those great books! Wow. It will be fun for you to read all of these.
Here's to a great week, Diane!
Thanks Deb, thank goodness bad things happening are infrequent.
DeleteDang, dang, dang, that was a seriously lousy week. I sure hope all is much better this week.
ReplyDeleteSure was Brian. Here's to a better week for all of us.
DeleteOh goodness that is a very stressful week. Here's hoping this week will be much better and more calm! Enjoy all the new books.
ReplyDeleteThank you Iliana, I need some calm and deep breathing.
DeleteDiane, I hope that this week will make up for your very stressful past week. Yoga stretches may help to your back. Your new books look wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan, yes, my return to yoga felt good.
DeleteOh, Diane, I am so very sorry about all this. I feel especially bad about the girls being upset in the car. At least the $2000 should be paid by the guy's insurance. My yoga helps me, too. I do videos from youtube. Especially needed because I don't do anything aerobic. I love meditation, also. I so hope the person who had the operation is completely fine. Thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nan, yes I'm sure the kids will not have any deductible (the car was parked) the neighbor admitted fault . It felt good to get back to yoga today.
DeleteI am so sorry you had such an awful week, Diane. Thank goodness your daughter and the kids weren't injured as they sat in the car waiting for help on the bridge. What a scare for all of them. And to have the new car damaged so soon. Ugh. What a nightmare. I hope your family member is cancer-free and that that particular worry disappears. The bank situation - shaking my head. Identity theft and fraud like that really pisses me off! Hopefully, the stress and your back issues go away quickly. I'm sure you wish you could just crawl under the bed covers and hide for a few days. My week sounds pretty tame compared to all you've gone through. My husband had gall bladder surgery on Tuesday after visiting the ER and hospital early Sunday morning and my mom has a terrible cold, so I'm trying to help both of them recover as best as I can. We're hoping to eventually sleep through the night! Big hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteLes, "crawling under the bedcovers" is a how I cope some time. I think I took 1 or 2 naps last week LOL Hope your husband recover quick from the gall bladder surgery. I had mine out at 51.
DeleteThat truly was an awful, stressful week! Just one of those situations would be horrible, but you really suffered an overdose of stress!
ReplyDeleteJenclair, it was rough to say the least but, hopefully it's behind us.
DeleteOh my word, you have had a rough week. That is too much. Sometimes it happens that way when one thing after another just hits you from left and right. Thank goodness it's all behind you and I am glad your back is a little better.
ReplyDeleteTi, yes, hoping the past is the past! Yoga felt good today.
DeleteSorry to see you and your family have had such a terrible week. This is one of those weeks that none of you are going to forget - but I suppose the good news is that this week is almost certain to be better for all of you than the one you just experienced
ReplyDeleteHang in there.
Sam, I guess it happens to all of us from time to time, but, a creature of habit like me, is really thrown for a loop when a week like the last one happens.
DeleteOh gosh, Diane, I would be at my wit's end! Yes, we all know and expect that stressful things will occur, BUT! You had a cascade, a waterfall of stressors--eee gads!
ReplyDeleteI do hope your back spasms will calm down. I've had back issues, too, and know how ornery they can be.
I love the cover of Black Beauty! How I loved that story as a young child, but I was always so sad because of how the horse was so ill-treated, but my mother helped with that when it was read to me.
Judith, I am on the mend and some gentle yoga today felt very good. Hope you have a good week.
DeleteUgh... this week has got to be better!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that you've you've had such a crappy week. I hope this week turns out much better for you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a week! Hopefully it can only get better from here! I'm sure this new week will be a wonderful one, especially with the togetherness & gratitude of thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, what a frustrating and discouraging week you had. I sincerely hope this week is treating you better. Meantime, there are always books!
