Mailbox Monday in August is hosted by Chick Loves Lit.
Thanks for hosting this popular post.
My mailbox overflowed this week, and while my clothes closets got cleaned, the book shelves are seriously out of control. I really need to do some book purging.
First photo is the result of IMPULSE on line purchases:(
- Moleskine 2011 Planner Diary
- Dictionary of Literary Terms and Literary Theory (this is awesome)
- Girl With the Dragon Tattoo; Larsson (I didn't want to be the only one not reading this series)
- Girl Who Played with Fire; Larsson
- Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest; Larsson
- UnbrokenUnbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption; Laura Hildenbrand - Shelf Awareness - 11/2010
- Resurrection of May; Lisa Samson (Amazon Vine)
- 13 rue Therese; Shapiro (Reagan Arthur Books)-2/2011) and a tin of lemon candy as well!
- The Elephant Keeper; Christopher Nicholson (win from Sandra)
- Dirty Secret: A Daughter Comes Clean About Her Mother's Compulsive Hoarding; Jessie Sholl (12/28/2010)
Hope you received some books that you will love!
I thought I was the only one who hasn't read the Larsson series lol..thinking I better put them on my tbr bucket list.

I also received 13 rue Thérèse last week. Enjoy your books!
ReplyDeleteOoh, another mailbox with 13 Rue Therese. I hope it's a great read!
ReplyDeleteI think you are going to enjoy the Millennium Trilogy! I am on the second book right now and liking it a lot! Also, The Elephant Keeper looks good! Enjoy all your new reads!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the Stieg Larsson series! And I'm curious about The Elephant Keeper, so I look forward to your post on it.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should read Compulsive Hoarding...sometimes my toys get out of control!
ReplyDeleteOoooh.....I love impulse purchases! I bought two books on Friday night online because someone blogged about their book-buying ban. What can I say? It inspired me, LOL!!! Enjoy everything!
ReplyDeleteI am thrilled to read that Laura H. has a new book. I had heard she has fibromylagia and Seabiscuit was difficult for her. BTW, I thought Seabiscuit was one of the best books I'd ever read. It had everything: history, drama, facts which would have been thought impossible had they been in a work of fiction, emotion. Perfection. I'm off to look at this new one.
ReplyDeleteI have a friend whose mom was a hoarder, and I fear my friend is the same way. A phenomenon I simply cannot understand. I barely keep anything. :<)
Woo-hoo! You got the Larsson books. I hope you'll enjoy them. I really thought the first two were great. Enjoy all your new books.
ReplyDeleteI'd really like to read the Larsen series some day and The Elephant Keeper is on my wishlist, too! Here's my Mailbox. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteWow! Enjoy all of your new books...I haven't read the Larsson trilogy yet but it sure sounds good.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic mailbox, Diane! Later I need to stop by the bookstore for some books for my daughter--will I be able to resist purchases for myself (and I wonder if they have a book blogger discount?)? :)
ReplyDeleteUnbroken immediately caught my eye. Looking forward to your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI got Dirty Secret too, and have been keeping an eye out for The Elephant Keeper. Fun books!
ReplyDeleteDiane enjoy all those lovely books! I am reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, hope you enjoy it! Some people say the first 100-150 pgs are slow-I didn't find it to be.
ReplyDeleteI loved Resurrection in May! Hope you do too.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of the Larsson books...I thought I was the only one. Looking forward to your thoughts!
ReplyDeleteAll of them look great!! Impulse buying can be fun!!
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to read the Larsson series too before the movies come out (and I'm holding off on the Swedish one too). I received The Elephant Keeper as a review copy and think the cover is gorgeous. Can't wait to read it.
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel about the Larsson books. I thought I was the only who who hadn't read them.
ReplyDeleteI love those online splurges - I had one of my own last week!
ReplyDeleteenjoy your books!
You'll love the Larsson books! My husband finished Girl Who Played with Fire this weekend and immediately picked up Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest. Good thing you bought all three because you'll want to read them in quick succession!
ReplyDeleteHere's what my family and I read this week:

I might be persuaded to try reading the dragon tatto if you like it. I wonder if it's just too close to Grisholm/Patterson... I read too many of these books in the 90's! :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great week Diane!
That diary looks tempting! And boo to me, I still haven't read the Larsson books. Have fun - those books (all) are awesome!
ReplyDeleteI want to read 13 Rue Therese! Great mailbox this week.
ReplyDeleteYou definitely got some great books! I hope you enjoy the Millennium series as much as I did!
ReplyDeleteClear your schedule ... my guess if you'll get hooked on the Larsson books and then have to read them all. you're taking a big leap of faith buying all three at once!
ReplyDeleteYou got - Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI so want to buy it too! I am telling you, you won't be disappointed with that series :)
Great books!!! I have all of the Larrson books and hope to get started soon. There are so many good books around...
