Here is my pick, book #4 of a series that I have enjoyed a lot.
The Night Season; Chelsea Cain
March 1, 2011
Chelsea Cain launches the next stage of her bestselling series as Archie Sheridan works to regain his life and Susan Ward steps in to share the spotlight in this electric thriller from one of today’s most talented suspense writers.
With Beauty Killer Gretchen Lowell locked away behind bars once again, Portland detective Archie Sheridan can finally rest. Meanwhile, the city of Portland is in crisis. Several people have drowned in heavy rains that have flooded the Willamette River. But the medical examiner discovers that in fact the latest victim was poisoned before she went into the water—she didn’t drown. A little detective work shows that so far three of those previously thought to be accidental drownings have actually been murdered. Portland has a new serial killer on its hands, and Archie and his task force have a new case. Meanwhile reporter Susan Ward is following up on an entirely separate mystery: the dramatic flooding has unearthed a skeleton, a man who might have died during catastrophic flooding more than sixty years ago that washed away an entire neighborhood and killed at least 15 people. As Archie follows the bizarre trail of evidence and evil deeds to catch his killer, he has to battle the rising waters of the Willamette first.
Your WOW choice sounds like a scary read! I hope it's as good as it sounds.
ReplyDeleteI have not read this series, and not heard of this author at all. Oh My!
ReplyDeleteI love serial killer novels. This sound awesome. Great pick!
ReplyDeleteThis does sound like an interesting series, and one I don't know much about. I am going to have to keep my eyes open for it! Thanks!

Ooooh never heard of this. I used to be OBSESSED with thrillers as a teen. And now that I'm an adult, I'm obsessed with YA fiction. A little backward, eh?
ReplyDeleteI’ve heard great things about this author. Nice pick!
ReplyDeleteWould you believe that I have never of of this series or author? Guess I should check her out sometime huh?
ReplyDeleteI'm really looking forward to this one too!
ReplyDeleteI read the first one in this series and I remember getting some flack from some customers who came back to return it after my recommend. They did not like the fact that it was about a female serial killer.
ReplyDeleteWell, i TOLD them it wasn't a cozy...sheesh.
Ooh interesting. I haven't heard of this series before. Nice pick. Mine is at The Crowded Leaf. P.S. Are you going to the Boston Book Festival on the 16th? I'll be there!
ReplyDeleteSo far I've only read Book 1 of this series so I skipped the description so I didn't accidentally spoil something for me when I read 2 and 3!
ReplyDeleteI am so there with this one! Great choice!
ReplyDeleteDo you know that the last series I read was the Little House on the Prairie series when I was 10? What is wrong with me? I need to get with it. Not even Harry Potter. I know!
ReplyDeleteI like serial killer slash thriller slash detective books, too. I should try this out :)
I haven't read this series yet, but I know what fun it can be to keep up with a favorite. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteLove Chelsea Cain's books. She's a local author (Portland OR) so has been on my radar since before the first book. Funny story. My husband had some minor heart issues and had to be hospitalized. I picked up my current read "Heartsick" as we were heading to the hospital, not realizing the title implications. Once I recognized my mistake, the next day I brought a lighter read! Book was great and husband is fine.
ReplyDeleteoooo chelsea cain. my friend talia looooooves him. have fun!
ReplyDeleteI really need to start on this series. I can't believe book four is coming out already!
ReplyDeleteI loved, loved, loved the previous books in this series and am certainly looking forward to this one. Now that you told me when it is coming out. Must get hands on copy..must....
