The stare-fest
Oh the drama! Cant you just feel the tension in the air?
ReplyDeleteOh, no. Two cats in the same house who can't stand each other! Do they get to go outside? My cats fight before they settle down to sleep together. I consider it brotherly love.
ReplyDeleteI love the tail photo.
Here's My Saturday Snapshot
What cuties! Why do they keep their distance?
ReplyDeleteI like the way they are looking at each other!!
ReplyDelete*grin*
Here is my Saturday Snapshot post!
I can feel the tension! I love cats. Great shots!
ReplyDeleteTrish, Paulita and Jill,
ReplyDeleteYes things can be tense at times. Most days are pretty good -- they just stay away from each other, but Freckles (8), the orange and white cat likes to get close to Libby(14)and she won't allow it. She is the alpha cat who use to be a hunter.
None of our cats go out anymore since we moved 3 years ago. We had lost (3) cats to outside elements in a 6 year period.
We actually have (4) cats and for the most part they just each to their own thing. Our other 2 our lap cats, and that gets interesting when I try to use my laptop..LOL
Ohh, that must be interesting. Both alphas, I'd imagine.
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteThe tail shot is cute! They look a little frustrated. Have a great day!

How cute! I love the "stare fest"!
ReplyDeleteOMG this is too cute :-D !!!
ReplyDeleteTwo cats and a laptop - need an extra big lap for all that! :) I like the Chinese standoff between the two, so threatening.
ReplyDeleteGreat story Diane. Love the photo with the two tails. I'm sure it's interesting in the house with 4 cats, at times.
ReplyDeleteOur old dog didn't want anything to do with the puppy and never warmed up to her. Odd, I just thought cats and dogs would learn to be friends. Not sure why I thought that.
Not the best of friends, huh? They are both very cute!
ReplyDeleteI can almost feel the "steam" coming off of them. Cats can be so dramatic in their staring, and their body language is often so intense.
ReplyDeleteI love it!
That takes me back to when we had cats in my foothills house. Sadly, we lost some to coyotes...so my last cat stayed indoors. She did some damage to the sheers on the windows...
Thanks for the dramatic pix and story.
Here's MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT and
MY WEBSITE
Who blinked first?
ReplyDeleteGreat pics, and close is good, even if fur a while!
ReplyDeleteMy cat Fiona hates her two brothers, but every once in awhile I will come across her sleeping curled up with one or both of them!
ReplyDeleteLibby does look serious about keeping her distance. I love the way they all have such distinct personalities.
ReplyDeleteThat fluffed out tail tells me all is not as serene as we might think. And I love the staring contest!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Snapshot: http://myreadersblock.blogspot.com/2011/09/saturday-snapshot-september-17.html
Those are great! My cats don't like each other much either. The only time the male cat comes close to the female is to lick her head and she hates it. It's always the prelude to a big fight. (They're both fixed, so thank goodness we don't have to worry about anything else.) :)
ReplyDeleteI can relate to this picture. I have two cats who can't seem to stay away from each other but there is no love between them. I love the tail shot. It says it all!
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny, 8 years of battle?
ReplyDeleteLooks like war could break out any minute! Those expressions on their faces are priceless.
ReplyDeleteMy Saturday Snapshots
Do they tolerate each other or do they get into scuffles? It took years for my two cats to sit nicely side by side. They never did cuddle up together.
ReplyDeleteCats really are their own persons and you really know when they dislike something.
ReplyDeleteLove the kitties. We have five at our house. They all have issues.
ReplyDeleteThose are two stinking funny! I love how we both picked our animals today!
ReplyDeleteNise,
ReplyDeleteThey never really have "cat fights" BUT Libby growls and gives him a left punch with her paw if he gets too close....LOL
That is too funny and I love that the photos tell the story so well
ReplyDeleteUh oh they do not get along not good. My little one knocked her brother off his scratch pad the other night. I had to put the scratch pads in front of me so there would be no bickering.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your warm thoughts.

LOL!
ReplyDeleteDetente? I like the pic of the stripey cat-tails.
ReplyDelete:)
I love your cats!
ReplyDeletestare fest... hmmm I hope it winds up peaceful :)
ReplyDeleteThat is just hilarious how they are sitting and staring at each other. Lol.
ReplyDeleteYour cats are adorable, Diane! The tail phot is wonderful (such a pretty background, too)
ReplyDeleteI have cats who do the stare-down thing, too. It always amazes me how much cats who live in the same home can dislike each other.
They are beautiful, even if they do not really get along.
ReplyDeleteToo funny! What is causing this "detente"? : )
ReplyDeleteThey just don't like one another. Libby, 14 has always been a loner and actually the only one she'll let near her is Lily the other female. She really dislikes the boys. Not sure who blinked first that time...LOL
ReplyDeleteThe cause usually is Freckles or Buddy (the other male) getting too close to her..
LOL, stare fest - I love it!
ReplyDeleteThe epic drama :) lol!
ReplyDeleteI love these photos, especially the tail shot. ;)
ReplyDeleteThey have that, "Bring it on!" look, don't they? Cats have perfected the pissy look.
ReplyDeleteToo funny -- loved the almost touching tails!
ReplyDeleteFlippin hilarious - love the stare-fest. I can almost see the words, "Oh, it's on!" in that look!
ReplyDeleteWow! I was so surprised to hear that you have cats who don't get along. I've been mulling over a blog post on just that subject. Mine are so bad that one of them has a separate room all to herself!
