My reading this week was next to nothing as I had a few interuptions to my private reading time at lunch. I do have a few reviews to catch up on as well. How was your week in books?
I know I have no business buying books these days, with 500+ unread on my shelves not to mention all those Kindle downloads (that I stopped counting), but I did pick up each of these books for under $5.00 each including shipping on Amazon. All were on my wishlist for a while, and just happened to have price reductions to next to nothing this month. Have you read any of these?
- Summertime and All the Cats Are Bored; Phillippe Georget (Europa Edition)
- Mapuche; Caryl Ferley (Europa Edition)
- Night Rainbow; Claire King
- Big Ray; Michael Kimball
- The New Life; Dante Alighieri (NYRB Classic)
Have a great week All
I hadn't heard of your particular books, but if they are ones that you were looking forward to, then that's a great haul.
ReplyDeleteThe baby girls are sooo adorable--the two younger girls resemble each other, to me.
Thank you Rita, they are so much fun. I'm so happy they all live less than an hour away.
ReplyDeleteAw, your grandkids are adorable!! All of your books are new to me. Not needing books has never stopped me from buying them.
ReplyDeleteSo true about buying books even when we don't need them:) Thsnkd for the sweet kiddo comments.
DeleteAwww, the little ones are precious. So sorry they came down with a stomach bug and that it spoiled birthday plans. Thanks for the books, I shall put them on the list. I am making my way through some Deborah Crombe ones at the moment. Really enjoying them. Have a great week Diane :)
ReplyDeleteDenise, hope you are enjoing Deborah C. I read one of her books a few years back and am pretty sure I enjoyed her writing.
DeleteThanks for the sweet comment.

ReplyDeleteThe girls are adorable! Hope they feel better!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ti - They are better now.
DeleteAll new to me. Like the title of your first book.
ReplyDeleteIt's the title that drew me in as well. Well, that and the fact it was a Europa.
DeleteWho can resist a good book sale! My children's birthdays are close too but unfortunately since there 9 years between them a joint party doesn't work!
ReplyDeleteHave a good week,
Shelleyrae @ Book'd Out
9 years is a big difference. My brothers were 9 and 11 years older than me and our birthdays just weeks apart...LOL Never a joint party.
DeleteWe love seeing those sweeties!
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks Brian.
DeleteI like the look of your new purchases, and the title of the Phillipe Georget book is an attention getter. I've read about that book, and it looks really good. Thanks for sharing photos of your grandchildren! They are so cute!
ReplyDeleteSome days I wish retirement was a possibility for me. My time will come though. I need to enjoy the time in between then and now first.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear the girls were sick. I hope they are feeling better.
The cover of Big Ray has me curious about that one. All the books sound like they will be good though.
I hope you have a great week, Diane!
Those years fly by Wendy as I think you must realize by now with how fast your preciouse Mouse has grown.
DeleteThe girls are better; thanks.
The little ones are too adorable! Enjoy your new books, Diane. You can never have too many!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Susan. Yes, I tend to be a minimalist, but books are the exception...LOL
DeleteAdorable kids!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new books...I like the look of The Night Rainbow.
Laurel, I added The Night Rainbow after reading about it on someone's blog. Can't recall who though??
DeleteThanks for the kiddo kindness.
Sorry the party got postponed due to illness. My little grandson is feeling poorly too. Books are just too hard to resist.
ReplyDeleteIt is so hard to hear or see that little ones are sick:( Hope he is better soon.
DeleteAwww, the girls are so cute. The little people seem to attract viruses so easily. Hope everyone is feeling better.
ReplyDeleteThe books are all new to me, but I can certainly understand the allure of even more books.
How can your babies be that old already??!! Are you just counting the hours until you can snuggle them whenever you want? They are all so adorable!
ReplyDeleteMy mom has said that she hasn't regretted retirement or moving up here to Cleveland for even one second. I think she'd be here 12 hours a day if I asked her ;) Enjoy your babies and books.
