2010 Reading Stats and Reading Challenges Wrap-Up

In 2010, I read (35) fewer books than in 2009,  mostly because I returned to work full-time at the end of March.  Despite this, I'm happy with my overall results and the quality of my books.

  • Total Books Read in 2010 - 167 books
  • Books from My Shelves - 93
  • Library Books - 74
  • 33/167 were perfect (5) star reads
  • New to me Authors -96
  • Review Books - 82
  • Audio Books - 41
  • Childrens Books - 24
  • Books Published in 2010 - 90
  • eBooks - 2
  • New Books Purchased - 83 ( over 50% were purchased at library book sales )
  • $$$ Spent on Books in 2010 - $351.16

In 2010, I completed  (10) out of (11) reading challenges. In 2009, that number was (17) out of (20).

  2. You must host "Books to Read Before I Die" again. I don't know how I missed out on that one last year, but you know we can try again :)
Congrats on finishing so many challenges too. I did a wrap up post too, recently.

  3. Fun stats! Isn't it a bummer that we have to work? It really gets in the way of our reading, doesn't it!?!

  6. Wow you had a great reading year! I like how you also mention the money spent on books. Every year I start off keeping track of book purchases but about March I give up - haha...

Congrats on doing so well with your challenges too!

  10. You did so well in 2010! Will you host the Books to Read Before I Die challenge again? If so, I'll join!

  11. Mari....I will try to post my five star books if I get the chance, however, you can check my list of all books read (which include ratings) for now.

Veens and Nan...I'm not hosting The Books To Read Before I Die Challenge since I failed miserably at that one. Someone is hosting a similar challenge called 2011 Bucket List Challenge.

  12. I am not one who joins challenges very often. One a year is about my limit, I may try two this year, I'll see.

You did a lot of reading this year, Happy Reading in 2011.

Thanks for the visit to My Reading Corner today.

  13. I am so impressed with the amount of challenges you completed!

You've read some wonderful things this year; I see from your top ten post that you loved the sudiobook version of The Lonely Polygamist. That book was probably my favorite of the year - I wasn't aware that there was an audio version as well.

Hope you have a fun safe New Year's, and all the best in 2011!

  16. As a few have mentioned before, it's interesting that you keep track of how much you spend on books. I don't, but now I'm curious.
