Saturday Snapshot - 4/14/12 Window Shopping

Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Alyce - http://athomewithbooks.blogspot.com/

Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don't post random photos that you find online.

Last month we were doing a bit of window shopping when I saw an interesting piece of art which called my name. Curious, I slipped inside the store with my handy dandy Nikon camera.  The piece was almost $3,000, so all I left with was this photo (and the store owner was not too happy about that either).  I've got a bit of a rebellious side to me, what can I say:)

Wouldn't this be perfect for a Bibliophile By the Sea?

  1. Oh, I really love it. A little pricey, but what a gorgeous setting and that baby grand. Wonder if it's a real room somewhere or just in the artist's imagination?

  2. What a fantastic room that would be! I would also add a couple of overstuffed couches for reading.

  4. I deleted the JJB comment when I realized I was logged in as my hubby who used my machine last night!!
    What I had said was:
Great room! You could have your photo blown up and then mounted on canvas and have your own piece of art!

  5. I would have loved the art, and I would have loved the room in the painting too. At least you got the photo :-)

  6. Love that photo...he's afraid you're going to make a replication for much less than the 3K he wants!!! You are very rebellious...love it!

    1. I'd have to add to this room of course. Comfy couches and under the window banks of bookshelves...LOL

  9. Yes, perfect! The price is a little steep, but at least you got a picture.

  10. Instead of buying the painting, you should build the house by the sea and move into it. I love the sun across the wooden floors and the arching windows with the sea view. Waiting for a picture of your new grandbaby when she arrives. Here's Mine

  11. Diane, oversized comfy couches and rows of books and this room would definitely call my name too! Wonder what the rest of the house would be like...

  12. I can see why you were drawn to it- a perfect room for a bibliophile by the sea indeed. All ready for bookshelves.

  14. Like Bermuda Onion and others, love that room. A grand piano is perfect in that picture.

  15. I could make use of that space! Hmmm.... a few books here... a few books there....

  16. I absolutely adore those windows and the gleaming floors! The piano is a nice touch.

I can envision some cozy reading nooks beneath some of the windows...and, of course, some comfy sofas, chairs, and bookshelves...underneath the windows.

Thanks for sharing and sparking our imaginations here!

And thanks for visiting my blog.

  20. Talk about a 'room with a view' ! What a beautiful painting! So real ... almost photographic in its realism.

  26. It is lovely! I've been guilty of slipping my camera out in exhibits when the guards are nowhere to be seen. :) Some art just captures the imagination and it's hard to keep walking by.

  27. I think that picture is perfect. And I would have done the same thing, although maybe a little more sneakily. Perhaps using my mobile phone camera while pretending to dial the phone! LOL
