First Chapter First Paragraph Tuesday Intros - What I Remember Most; Cathy Lamb

Every Tuesday I host First Chapter First Paragraph Tuesday Intros where I share the first paragraph sometimes two from a book I am reading or thinking about reading soon.  Here's my pick for this week.

Kensington - 2014

1

"I hear his voice, then hers.  I can't find them in the darkness.  I can't see them through the trees.  I don't understand what's going on, but their horror, their panic, reaches me, throttles me.

They scream the same thing.

Run, Grenadine, run!

It's them.

What do you think -- keep reading or pass?  (I'm at the 30% mark and so far this book is fantastic.)

  3. What frightning moment! I would keep reading. The cover doesn't really match the opening. I'd want to see what direction the book takes.

  5. It sounds as if something awful is happening at the start of this book. I'd read more to find out what's going on.

  6. Oh yes, I would read on. The cover gives an impression that this is a happy, cheerful book - but I'm guessing it isn't!

    1. The cover reminds my more of contemporary women's fiction, but the story certainly doesn't feel that way.

  11. Well, that is definitely an attention grabber! I would read on, in fact it is on my TBR list already. I have read another of Cathy Lamb's, Julia's Chocolates and liked it a lot.

  13. Definitely keep reading. The cover doesn't seem to match the words though so not sure I'd have even picked it up.
