Every Tuesday I host First Chapter First Paragraph Tuesday Intros where I share the first paragraph sometimes two from a book I am reading or thinking about reading soon. Here's my pick for this week.

"I hear his voice, then hers. I can't find them in the darkness. I can't see them through the trees. I don't understand what's going on, but their horror, their panic, reaches me, throttles me.
They scream the same thing.
Run, Grenadine, run!
It's them.
What do you think -- keep reading or pass? (I'm at the 30% mark and so far this book is fantastic.)
I'd keep reading. I like the way it started off.
ReplyDeleteGlad it appealed to you Catherine.

ReplyDeleteGlad u liked it, can't wait to get back to it.
DeleteI read this book recently and adored it. Hope you're enjoying it too.
ReplyDeleteGlad u loved it Sandra -- so good so far.
DeleteWhat frightning moment! I would keep reading. The cover doesn't really match the opening. I'd want to see what direction the book takes.
ReplyDeleteI agree, the cover doesn't fit at all --not yet at least.
DeleteLove that opening! It really grabbed me. I'd keep going.
ReplyDeleteIt really drew me in too Margot.
DeleteIt sounds as if something awful is happening at the start of this book. I'd read more to find out what's going on.
ReplyDeleteIt really hooks you from page one.
DeleteOh yes, I would read on. The cover gives an impression that this is a happy, cheerful book - but I'm guessing it isn't!
ReplyDeleteNot at all cheerful yet, but so good.
DeleteThe fact you really like it makes me want to read more.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Harvee, I hope you can try it sometime.
DeleteGlad you're enjoying it. The opening does make you want to read more!
ReplyDeleteIt's very addictive - perfect for this time of year and my mood:)
DeleteSounds exciting. I was thinking maybe she could just lie still and no one would notice, but I guess she's in danger.
ReplyDeleteVery very exciting, what a story and I'm only 30% into it.
DeleteGosh, the opening makes me want to read more to see what will happen next! I love the cover, too!
ReplyDeleteThe cover reminds my more of contemporary women's fiction, but the story certainly doesn't feel that way.
DeleteWell, that is definitely an attention grabber! I would read on, in fact it is on my TBR list already. I have read another of Cathy Lamb's, Julia's Chocolates and liked it a lot.
ReplyDeleteI am a fan of this author as well.
DeleteYep, that got my attention. I would read more...after I quit running.
ReplyDeleteLOL -- exactly!
DeleteDefinitely keep reading. The cover doesn't seem to match the words though so not sure I'd have even picked it up.
ReplyDeleteI agree Emma.
DeleteI would definitely keep reading, but if I would have just seen the cover I would have never picked it up. I really hope you enjoy it :)
ReplyDeleteYes the cover says romance or women's fiction.
DeleteYes,I am going to read this!
ReplyDeleteIt is awesome so far. enjoy
DeleteAwesome beginning! I would definitely read on!
ReplyDeleteThat seems to be the consensus today.
DeleteGreat TT! keep reading but I'd probably avoid it in the night :)
