  1. Yay for library book sales! You got some good books. I can't wait until our next library sale (about two weeks).

  3. Time to do a little weeding in my own library -- which means I can contribute to the success of our library's sale in October! Thanks for the reminder!

  4. I wondered where you were today. I like your choices, especially the Graham Greene. That Barbara Kingsolver was not my favorite.

  7. Oh, that looks like fun. I try to avoid those things, mainly because we're running out of room at an alarmin speed.

  8. Great sale! I bought Housekeeping a few months ago but haven't gotten around to reading it yet.

  9. It is so difficult to limit yourself at library sales. A good deal is hard to pass up. That is how my bookshelves became overflowing. Good job on being selective!

  10. That's a great selection, Diane! You did well to keep to the really good books. Have fun reading them!

  12. Library book sales are the best! I'm sad because our local friends of the library aren't sure if they're going to be putting one on this fall or not. I certainly hope they do.

    You got some great finds!

  16. I love library book sales but they're really dangerous! I always come home with way more books than I should have bought!

  17. Library sales are definitely my weakness! You did a great job with self-control. :)

  18. It's difficult not to get carried away at a sale like that, but so much better to have some control. Looks like you did a great job!

  25. Great haul, looks like a beautiful day.
There was a huge book sale at a venue I went to for a conference last month, unfortunately I didn't get to go. However, I have the next one marked in my diary!

  27. Library sales are always a good place to be. :-D

  28. Looks like you got some GREAT books! I didn't much care for 'Hedgehog' but loved The Lacuna (what else, considering it's Kingsolver? lol)

    Happy reading!

  29. The setting for your book sale looks just like Waterbury, CT's sale. When we lived there, I was active in the Friends of the Library and ran the book sale for a couple years until we moved. Hard to get volunteers but we raised lots of money to make up for what the city cut out of our budget.

My goal is always to not buy more books than I donated. Success this year - I didn't go to the sale, forget why. :)

  30. Oh I LOVE your picture of the books under the trees. It looks like such a pretty, balmy day where you live. Wonderful picture. I want to be there!
