Book Review - Good Morning Zoom; Lindsay Rechler (Ill. June Park)

A pandemic parody on the children's book,  Goodnight Moon, Good Morning Zoom was a story about the day in the life of what happens in many homes during the pandemic: Zoom classrooms, iPads, pillow forts and talking with grandparents while social distancing. Although a cute pandemic keepsake, I think I was expecting a bit more. I did like that it gave a bit of hope our life after quarantine.

I checked out this book in both print and on audio (the audio was 5 minutes long and narrated by Donna Lynne Champlin).  The audio was sent to me via the publisher (Listening Library) in exchange for my unbiased review.

RATING - 3/5 stars

  1. Ugh. This is depressing. The thing about all this virtual everything is that we will remember it forever. No one needs to be reminded of it. It's not a keepsake I'd like to have. In the beginning some authors came out quickly with books about hand washing and mask wearing and those had a purpose although, also not fun to read. This, just does not.

  2. This sounds like a good idea to me. I wonder what kids think of it.

  3. We've never been on Zoom but it doesn't sound very likeable.

  4. I could see this being cute for a kid - make life seem a bit more normal maybe. Too bad it was lacking a bit though.

  5. This kind of thing makes me wonder just what will be left behind to mark the experience. It's definitely a transformational/transitional time in world history, and we can only hope that something akin to normalcy returns at some point because this new normal thing is not cutting it for me.

  6. I just saw another parody of the classic called "Good Bye Trump" so it seems there are many versions out there!
