Hoping everyone in the US had something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving, and those of you outside of the US and wished the same.
I hopped right on the reading bandwagon yesterday, and never left the house, didn't log on to the computer until right before bed, and was able to read (2) books and start a third book and still get (7) hours of sleep last night.
I read: Christmas Dog; Melody Carlson and Await Your Reply; Dan Chaon ( BOTH were VERY GOOD), and started The Christmas List; Richard Evans (also VERY GOOD).
OTHER STUFF: Drank some wine, ate some leftover turkey and leftover pie and took a little nap -- and my husband got to enjoy uninterrupted television. I ask you "what could be better than this???". SORRY .... I have not checked my Google Reader and do not plan to until sometime on Sunday evening.
How is everyone else doing who is participating in Thankfully Reading?
Good for you! Read away.
ReplyDeleteWow, it was like a mini read-a-thon for you! What a wonderful way to spend the day.
ReplyDeleteOh my --- that sounds like my perfect day! I am so glad that you have this opportunity to take time out for you.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check out Christmas Dog, I've liked other Melody Carlson books. I read The Christmas List on Thursday so it doesn't count but you're right, VERY GOOD.
ReplyDeleteI finished A Highlander Christmas on Friday, hope to start The Christmas Secret and finish Falling into the Sun.
Wow! I am SO jealous. No, not really! I hope to read more today--we're having quite a storm and it's perfect reading weather. And I'm in the middle of a GREAT book!
ReplyDeleteI didn't check my google reader until last night and I was surprised it hadn't reached 200, but just by a couple. With the baking, cooking, and eating, then shopping - I'm thankful I have these two more days off!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated Thanksgiving!
Wow! three books! I had the best intentions but only started an antiques mystery and a bride and groom mystery, two books which I have not yet finished. But...the weekend is not over yet! Visit my blog for a look at the antique mystery list of books you might like reading.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful and relaxing day. I like it!
ReplyDeleteI was out shopping, but I think you were more productive! Can't wait for the reviews (especially of a Christmas Dog).
ReplyDeleteWine, pie, reading, naps...what could be better? Sounds like you're enjoying this time!
ReplyDeleteI'm supposed to be participating, but it seems like the very act of making a commitment ensured that 80 other things would come up, and I've been able to read less than even a normal day!
ReplyDeleteI finished the Christmas Dog too and I agree it was really good. Can't wait to read your review.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great day. Can't wait to read your thoughts on all the books you're getting done.
ReplyDeleteI"m not participating, but I"m so glad that the books you've read are so good!! and yay for holiday books! :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like your day yesterday was heavenly, Diane! I haven't been quite so dedicated to my reading this weekend, just fitting it in when I can. I spent a lot of time with books today, although not reading them. Many people on my Christmas list are getting books this year and so I spent a good chunk of time at the bookstore, picking out the perfect books for everyone. I hope to settle in with my book this evening.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you! (I know this came late but still...) I'm glad you had a good time reading!
ReplyDeleteYour day sounds like it was perfect!!! Reading and eating leftovers, so no real time spent cooking = more time for reading!!! Bliss.
ReplyDeleteSounds like the absolutely best weekend!!! I've been mostly unplugged too. Not getting tons of reading in, but I'm not complaining.
ReplyDeleteThis weekend is so fun! Books and Thanksgiving leftovers...I wish I could have gotten more reading in like you did, but I intend on being a reading couch potato today :)
