First Chapter First Paragraph Tuesday Intros - Britt-Marie Was Here; Fredrik Backman

Every Tuesday I host First Chapter First Paragraph Tuesday Intros where I share the first paragraph sometimes two, of a book that I'm reading or plan to read soon.  (This is Backman's third novel. If you love quirky characters, be sure to check all of his books out).

Britt-Marie Was Here; Fredrik Backman
Atria - May 2016

"Forks. Knives. Spoons. In that order.

Britt-Marie is certainly not the kind of person who judges other people. Far from it.

But surely no civilized person would even think of arranging a cutlery drawer in a different way from how cutlery drawers are supposed to be arranged?

We're not animals are we?"

What do you think -- keep reading or pass?

    1. I loved Ove as well. The second book was good but Ove was better IMO.

  5. Haha! Is there another way to organise your cutlery drawer? Sounds like a good one to me!

  6. The cover speaks to me. I'm just not sure what it's saying. The "cutlery drawer," I would like to read more about it. Who knew such an ordinary kitchen item could speak so loudly.

  9. I've got this ARC, but from what I've been told, I need to read My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry first. I'm looking forward to both books, as I loved A Man Called Ove.

P.S. I'm an animal. Forks, spoons, knives. :)

  11. I need to add this one to my list. I have not yet read, A Man Called Ove. It is on my list of reads for 2016 though. My cutlery drawer is way wrong forks, spoons and knives across the top. Ugh!

  13. You know, with this blog hop, I'm finding out about so many books I normally would never know about, because they're not the type I usually read. The opening of this one didn't exactly grab me, but then I went over to Goodreads to take a look. Now I want to read this book! I love the idea of Britt Marie loosening up, plus the book has a lot of humor in it. Goodreads is also holding a giveaway for this book, so I've signed up! Thanks for sharing!! Have a GREAT day!! :)

  15. I can't take a steady diet of quirky characters but definitely enjoy reading about them from time to time. This sounds like a good one.
