Author - Jose Saramago R.I.P.

Jose Saramago (1922-2010)

We mourn the passing of Portuguese novelist Jose Saramago, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature, who died on June 18 at the age of 87. A provocative thinker and inimitable stylist, Saramago often polarized public opinion, but the love and admiration for his fiction--including Blindness, All the Names, and the forthcoming The Elephant's Journey--has never wavered.

I loved his novel Blindness so much that I read it twice --extremely rare for me. He will be missed.

  11. Add me to the list of fans for Blindness - a very haunting and unforgettable book. Haven't seen the movie nor have I read any of his other work - which I vow to remedy.
