Mailbox Monday is a gathering place for readers to share the books that
came into their house last week and explore great book blogs. January's host is Alyce@ At Home with Books.
Last week I was feeling too lazy to join in, so these are my new books for (2) weeks - no books were received as holiday gifts, but I did receive some Amazon Gift cards.
- Home Front; Kristin Hannah (amazon vine and St Martin's Press)
- Midwife of Venice; Roberta Rich (Gallery Books/Simon and Schuster)
- Me Before You; JoJo Moyes (sent by author)
- All I Did Was Shoot My Man; Walter Mosley (Riverhead Books and Shelf Awareness)
- The Possibility of You; Pamela Redmond (Gallery Books/Simon and Schuster)
Any new books for you?
Diane, looks like a lovely group of books! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteHa, since starting to read this week's MM posts I've added the first three on your list to my TBR list - looks like there will be lots of reviews in the near future. Have a great week, Diane!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great Christmas! I'm jealous that you have the new Kristin Hannah in hand!
ReplyDeleteThey all look good! I hope they exceed your expectations?
ReplyDeleteMe before You looks interesting, I will wait to read your review though since it's 480 pages. This length is either fantastic or about 100 pages too long... (hopefully you understand this comment).
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week!
Quiet for me this week. Thank god. As I seemed to be have been inundated with books lately. These look fabulous. I hope you enjoy them Diane. Happy New Year to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of The Midwife of Venice, but it sounds perfect for the Venice in February reading challenge!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful start to 2012, happy reading.
ReplyDeleteMidwife of Venice sounds amazing, and I am off to check it out right now! A lot of your other books look great as well! Enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteThese all look very tempting! I've been seeing Me Before You around and I'm very curious.
ReplyDeleteHome Front will be coming to me at the end of the month.
Thanks for visiting my blog...and enjoy your books!
A nice mix of reads, enjoy!

I didn't get any book gifts either, but I think most of my relatives don't want to risk buying something I've already read (either that or they figure I have enough books - as if that could happen). ;)
ReplyDeleteI got the Jojo Moyes book too and I'm hoping it's good. I've read two of her books and loved one while the other one was just okay.
I have Home Front from Vine also. This will be my first Kristin Hannah book but it sounded interesting so I thought I'd give it a try. And I'm trying to request mostly audio for a while until I at catch up (well, try to anyway) with my print backlog.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy! Looks like a manageable pile!
ReplyDeleteSome good books here, Diane, especially Midwife of Venice and The Possibility of You!
ReplyDeleteI received the Walter Mosley book, too. It'll be my first time reading one of his books.
Happy Reading!
They all sound very good!
ReplyDeleteMidwife of Venice looks great. I'm a sucker for those types of covers! They all look great!
ReplyDeleteAll of your new books look very good. I have a paper copy of Home Front which I am looking forward to reading. I have enjoyed a few of Hannah's books. I love the title of All I Did Was Shoot My Man! It gave me a chuckle!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice selection. The Hannah book and Midwife of Venice are the two which interest me the most. Will be awaiting your reviews.
ReplyDeleteI see Kristin Hannah show up on so many blogs, but I've yet to try anything by her. I really need to fix that!
ReplyDeleteKristin Hannah has a new one out? MUST check it out! I received All I Did Was Shoot My Man as well - I'm loving the Leonid McGill thrillers, so I know this one will be great!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy all of the lovely new reads!
Happy New Year Diane! Hope you had a great holiday season!
ReplyDeleteLooks like great assortment of books! I love the title Me Before You!
What a great selection of books! This is a stash that I would read as most of the books interest me. Will look out for your reviews.
ReplyDeleteI have Midwife on my TBR shelf! It looks good, doesn't it? I'm hoping to get to it sometime in the new year.
ReplyDeleteThe Possibility of You caught my eye! Enjoy your new books! I had some fun using an Amazon gift card yesterday myself. ;)
ReplyDeleteFun books! Me Before You looks like one I'd love to read!
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about the Mosely book!
ReplyDeleteLove the title of all I did was shoot my man. You'll have to let us know how that one goes.
ReplyDeleteI'm almost finished with Me Before You, and I am quite moved by the novel. JoJo Moyes did an exceptional job of making us care, as well as think, about her characters and their situations.
