Saturday Snapshot

 A few weeks ago, just as the sun had gone down, I stopped by a local florist, and snapped this "gerber daisy" photo with my iPhone.

    I love daisies because of their simplicity. But Gerbera daisies always get my attention because they look so dressed up in all their colorful petals.

    The detail in this photo is marvelous. The petals look like velvet and the color is wonderful. To think you could get this on your phone is amazing to me.

    I got to carry a gorgeous bouquet of gerber daisies in a friend's wedding many years ago, and have loved them ever since! Beautiful shot.

    I just love Gerber Daises and this is a beautiful pink color.

    That is really a terrific picture. The color of the daisy, the shadows on the petals -- great job! That's one of the things I love about my cameraphone -- you can capture beautiful moments wherever you are.

    Hi Diane,

    Gerbera daisies have always been one of my favourite flowers, because of their size, longevity and the fantastic array of colours they come in, although I can't recall ever seeing that particular shade of delicate pink.

    I trained as a florist, many years ago, when I first left school and Gerbera's were just becoming available to buy, at that time.

    I can't believe the selection of flowers that are available all year round now and often think back fondly to those days of making bouquets and floral tributes.

    Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
