Saturday Snapshots - Motherhood

Saturday Snapshot is hosted by http://athomewithbooks.blogspot.com/

Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don't post random photos that you find online.

My brain has been on overload lately because of so much going on in the next month: (2) baby showers - co-hosting one, a trip to. I haven't been snapping any photos, and was actually running out of ideas for Saturday posts, until the wonderful http://anenglishgirlrambles.blogspot.com/2012/02/more-collections.html, gave me an idea recently. She featured a post about some of her favorite art she's collected.

I have also always loved meaningful pieces of art as well. Every item hung on our home has some meaning to me.  So although the lighting wasn't perfect when I took these, (we have lots of windows and sun glare), I decided to feature (3) of about (15) this week.

(this one reminds me of my wonderful days as a young mother)

(more memories of when my (2) children were young)

(this one is above a landing half way above
a winding staircase so it was really tough to capture)

  3. Oh, those are wonderful! I always have such a hard time capturing paintings due to light glare and angle. You did a great job....

    Thanks for sharing.

  6. I love them all, especially the third snow scene.

  7. I love them all, the first two especially touch me. I'm not a 'young' mother, but new enough to appreciate the first and have a few snow pictures with Gage to make me smile at the second.

  9. What a lovely collection of pictures you have. Yes, the top one reminds me of those early mornings I had with a young baby :)

  10. Very nice. And when I view the larger size I can see the detail clearly. The last one is so cute. That would go nicely on my walls, I have about 50 plants!

  11. The few paintings we've collected are meaningful to us as well, some because of the subject but others because of where we bought them.

  12. These are great Diane and even better that they bring back good memories. I especially like the last one.

  13. I so enjoyed this post. My daughter is to give brith to a baby girl in April, so motherhood is close to mt heart at this time ... and the images are so 'pastel coloured' and expressive.

    Thank you!

  14. I think it's so interesting to look at people's choices in art, music and poetry...I love the 2nd one and need to start framing some of my photos...the walls are too blank :)

  17. I love art that is chosen for its meaning, rather than because it goes with your color scheme. All of mine is travel-related, of places I've been or want to go, and it makes it much more special.

  18. Those are great! I really need to put up some more art around my house. I think indoor photos are the most challenging - I am constantly dealing with weird lighting, shadows, reflections, etc. I think yours turned out nice.

  19. I love how you showed some of the artwork you have, great idea! Beautiful pieces!

  20. These are so wonderful! I hope you will post the rest of your collection too. That is a great idea. Most of my art has special meaning also.

My sister-in-law has the same print you have in your second photo. I've always liked it because it looks like home. :)

  22. I like your art idea, Diane! I also enjoyed your theme, Motherhood. Mary Cassatt is one of me favorite painters. :)

  23. I love them...I own very little artwork and am sad about that!

  24. The top two photos I've seen before and appreciate the sentiment. The third, being harder to capture, is also a bit harder to see the details.

  25. I love artworks too, and indeed my post this week is chock full of paintings. Such a great idea to feature what's on our walls at home! When I run out of ideas, I know what I can use.

  32. These pictures are all beautiful and more, Diane...I love the middle one, it's adorable, funny and touching, and the first one is comforting and also touching and I'm sure for anyone who's been a mother with babies it brings back many memories.

A great idea for this meme.

  33. I don't have much in the way of art. I hang shots I've taken either of the kids or places I've been. I have loads of artsy shots I took for my photography class that I have yet to frame. I must do that.
