First Chapter ~ First Paragraph Tuesday Intros

 
 
Every Tuesday, I'll be posting the opening paragraph (sometimes maybe a few ) of a book I decided to read based on the opening paragraph (s). Feel free to grab the banner and play along.  

This week's pick is an audio book  and ARC, I started yesterday. 


                                              
First Paragraph.....

"I NEVER WOULD have known about the other Mosey Slocumb if Tyler Bains hadn't brought his mullet head and a chain saw over to murder my mom's willow tree. I wouldn't have bet someone else's dollar that Tyler Bains, would be the one to discover her.  Tyler Bains was not the discovery type. He was more the patchy-chin, pubes, tats, dirty-white-truck type.  He was totally hooked on Red Man too, so he spewed brown juice like a cricket everyplace he went.  Last year my mom nicknamed him The Might-Un-Butt Crack, because she said he was a single flash of ass plumage away from being the walking definition of redneck."

I've enjoyed this author's books in the past
and --- so far so good.

    It's amazing how the first paragraph can hook a reader. now I cannot rest till I know more about Tyler bains :)

    This book and Ready Player One are tied at the top of my audio wish list. Not sure which one I'll start next (listening to North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell now). It sounds like a winner!

    Jackson's books are real grabbers (at least the couple that I read). I would definitely keep going on this one. Just the 1st paragraph indicates it will be a hunker-down-in-the-recliner-for-an extended-period kind of book. Enjoy!

    This is the first Jackson book I have read and I liked it well enough. It was well received by my book club!

    The first paragraph doesn't appeal to me but the cover does. I've seen this book reviewed on another blog and she liked it--so I might try it. kaye—the road goes ever ever on

    Hadn't heard of this book, but the front cover makes me want to read it. Love the retro dress. The first paragraph is certainly intriguing - makes me want to keep going. Thanks for pointing out a book i might have missed.
