Saturday Snapshot
is hosted by Alyce of At Home With Books.
Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don't post random photos that you find online.
I think the squirrels are planning for a severe winter.
It looks like it! I loved the photos!
ReplyDeleteHere is my Saturday Snapshot post!
I don't think I have ever seen a squirrel's nest. Or maybe I just didn't know what I was looking at :)
ReplyDeleteI honestly hope that we have a winter with snow!!! Animals tend to know these things! I always thought they lived inside the tree!!
ReplyDeleteThose nests certainly look fortified, don't they?!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! I've never seen a squirrel's nest before.
ReplyDeleteWe have a few nests out back but the trees are so full right now that i can't see them.
ReplyDeleteAnimals do have a real sense about these things.
I've never seen a squirrels nest either, even though we are overrun with the vermin here. Nice photo, Diane. Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeletePurrsonally I hope the are not correct!
ReplyDeleteHave you been seeing tons of baby squirrels? They are such a pain.
ReplyDeleteWow, looks very cozy!
ReplyDeleteWow..."tangled" comes to mind. Perhaps they are also trying to discourage unexpected visitors.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing...and here's MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT POST
I have an explosion of squirrels this year and nests in several trees. I think the warm winter helped a lot more of them survive.
ReplyDeleteWow...very cool, Diane. I don't think I've ever seen a squirrel's nest up close!
ReplyDeleteWell, if your prediction is correct, it would make sense. After last winter, we are overdue for some cold stuff!
Hope you are enjoying your weekend.
Sue
I've never thought about where squirrels live... but never knew they nest in a tree. ;)
ReplyDeleteI hope we do get snow this year. Not getting any last year started the water table off low and the hot weather with no rain is not helping!
ReplyDeleteInteresting pictures! I hope out winter is mild again... I am just not a fan.
ReplyDeleteThe nests look a real jumble don't they. My Snapshot is at http://goo.gl/ha45K
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a squirrel's nest - they're quite a rare sight here. My Snapshot is at http://www.booksplease.org/2012/07/21/saturday-snapshot-34/
ReplyDeleteGreat photo. Better in their nest than in my attic.
ReplyDeleteWonder if they know something we don't!
ReplyDeletecan't believe I am gonna say this...I hope so!
ReplyDeleteoh wow, those quarrels are really prepared...early...Not that I know ANYTHING about squirrels... Book Savvy Babe
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have even known it had anything to do with squirrels. :) Nothing would surprise me with the weather lately though.
ReplyDeleteI didn't even know squirrels built nests. Obviously, I'm not much of a nature girl.
ReplyDeleteThose nests definitely look like they're ready for some heavy weather. Given how dry it's been here year-round--I wouldn't mind a bit if we have a heavy winter.
ReplyDeleteHere's my Snapshot.
I did not realize squirrels build house or nest like birds using twigs and leaves.
ReplyDeleteYou capture the moment.
I've been seeing some of these squirrel huts in the tops of the big pine trees in our back yard lately too...interesting how the animals know what to do and when :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos!!
ReplyDeleteI agree. Many signs are pointing that way.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my old wagon this week.
I think squirrels nests look so messy. They may be anticipating a tough winter, or, after the wind storms around here, they may just have more building material from broken branches. Here's Mine
ReplyDeleteThey are certainly getting ready early. Hopefully, that's not a bad omen!
ReplyDeleteMy Snapshot
I'm hoping they are right on that. I'm so ready for winter.
ReplyDeleteVery cool photos! I hate to think about winter in July though! Are the squirrels a pain at your house? They tease our dogs by dancing along the fence or running across the patio while the dogs have to watch through the glass door. And they chew on everything! They sure look cute but they're annoying.
ReplyDeleteI know squirrels aren't popular there, but I just love them-it's easy when you don't have to live with them. I'd be very excited to have a squirrel drey in the back yard!
ReplyDeleteI love that picture! We have tons of squirrels around here and I think they're cute. Their shenanigans don't bother me much!
ReplyDeleteNever saw a squillel nest up close. cool photos
ReplyDeleteWow … I hope they are wrong!
