Mystery Read-a-Thon January 16 and 17

I was so excited to hear about this upcoming Mystery Read-a-Thon, especially since I seem to need something to motivate me to read/review a few  ARCS that will fit this genre.
So, it's official, the next Mystery Read-A-Thon will be in January 2010!

The 3rd Mystery Read-A-Thon will take place
  • January 16, 2010 to January 17, 2010
The goal is to
  • read mysteries for 12 hours during those two days

  1. I am super excited about this event as well. I may not read for a full 12 hours, but I plan to read as much as I can.

Have you decided which book(s) to read yet?

  2. Thank you for posting about this mini challenge, otherwise I wouldn't have known. This is definitely one for me as mystery/suspense is my favorite genre and what a GREAT excuse not to do chores (lol)

  5. I have never read a mystery in my entire life.. ever. Not that I don't want to, I just can't figure out what a good one to start with would be. Any recommendations?

  8. Lisa....I can't believe that you have never read a mystery??? WOW ...Not even Nancy Drew as a child?

There are a lot of good authors: Ruthe Rendell, Barbara Vine, PD James, Sue Henry (Alaskan Mystery Series) are a few good ones.

  12. Thanks for the tip. Sounds like great fun - and a good "excuse" to get caught up on some reading. Sounds like both my kid will even be out of the house.
