ReplyDeleteI would have to say that "Noah's Compass" was my favorite novel of 2009 (I bought my copy last summer from a bookseller in England because I have no sense of deferred gratification where Anne Tyler is concerned!)
I first learned of this book through a comment you left on my 2009 favourites post where Tomato Girl topped the list. I've put a hold on it at the library where they have it on order; I'm 4th on the list but they already have it listed as a "Whitehot" which likely means it'll be one of those blasted 7day loans. Winning a signed copy would be cool!

Oh, man, it's hard to pin down my fave read of 2009! I narrowed my top ten list down to 17, LOL. For the purpose of this contest, I would have to say "Still Alice" by Lisa Genova. It stuck with me long after the last page and was truly an insightful novel.

That's a hard question. I have to say I laughed and laughed and remembered good parts of my life while reading Wishin' and Hopin' by Wally Lamb. The book is wonderful at Christmas or anytime.

My favourite book of 2009 was Gretzky's Tears by Stephan Brunt. Excellent look at how a hockey trade changed professional hockey in Canada and the United States at the end of the 20th century.

ReplyDeleteMy favourite read for 2009 was The Hunger Games. Not only did I love it but my students are still fighting over who gets to read it next. I think the trilogy (book3 out in the summer) is a must read for everyone, especially those with kids and who work with kids.

I read so many great things in 2009! But I think my most favourite was I Know It's Over by C.K. Kelly Martin. I think it was published in 2008, but I read it in 2009 and re-read it many times over! My favourite book published in 2009 might have to be Cracked Up to Be by Courtney Summers.
