Booking Through Thursday - Recent Best

What’s the best book you’ve read recently?

I enjoyed Richard Russo's new book : That Old Cape Magic so much, that I just ordered (4) more of Russo's books:

One thing that really appeals to me about Russo's writing is his ability to vividly capture his characters and show parallels between them. Between parent and child and one generation to the next. That Old Cape Magic and Empire Falls are both good examples of this. You can read my review here of That Old Cape Magic.

  2. I must read this book - I have heard many good things about it!

Thanks for commenting on Lilly...she is a spoiled little Chihuahua with a "Big Dog" attitude. You should see her when she barks; her little front feet lift up off of the floor with her ferocious barks...it's hilarious. Do you have any pictures of your kitty posted?

  11. I've been meaning to read this when it comes out on paperback. Then again, maybe I should start with something else by him? I'm even more convinced now, as I know what goodness elicits a reader to buy all of an author's books!

  12. I loved EMPIRE FALLS (the only Russo I've read so far), and have THAT OLD CAPE MAGIC on my wish list. I really should have read it on vacation (at the Cape) this summer ...
