What a difference a week makes.
Last Saturday was I was miserable: cold, fever, headache etc. Today I am almost good as new, but that is only because I passed it on to my husband. So now I get to wait on him LOL. I did not leave the house until Thurday, so I did get some reading done, including an audio book.
BOOKS the CAT DRAGGED IN (or what I told my husband) --The picture isn't great but I did buy (3) heavily discounted hardcovers this week that were on my list:
- Waiting to Surface; Emily Listfield
- A Way From Home; Nancy Clark
- The Cure for Grief; Nellie Herman
- Last Night in Montreal; Emily St John Mandel (Giveaway win from Avis--thanks so much)
Has anyone read any of these? I know I've read some positive reviews on Last Night in Montreal.
Glad you're feeling better, and I hope your husband is soon on the mend.
ReplyDeleteNice week in books! I loved LAST NIGHT IN MONTREAL ... reviewed it just yesterday. I don't think you'll find it easy to put down once you start it!
Those cats! Always bringing in more books whether we need them or not. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are feeling better, Diane. Hopefully your husband will have a quick recovery.
I've read Last Night in Montreal and really enjoyed it. Hopefully you will too!
Enjoy your new books!
Glad you're better! Hope your husband gets well soon..
ReplyDeleteHaven't read any of them, but love the cat picture - lol! Glad you're feeling better, and hope your husband gets over it quickly.
ReplyDeleteI really wish I could teach my cat to drag books home for me too.LOL. I haven't heard of any of these- they do look good.
ReplyDeleteGreat books...glad you are feeling better...
ReplyDeleteLast Night in Montreal was a great book.
Love that photo of the cat with the blue wig!
Wish I had a cat to drag in books for me!

I'm so glad to see I'm not the only one with a "cat that buys books"! And all that against our will, of course...
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of these, but I've read "Best intentions" by Emily Listfield and loved it. "Waiting to surface" is on my TBR list, too, I think; is it the one that's mainly inspired by her own husband's disparition?
but I don't have a cat!!
ReplyDeletewell, except my imaginary kitty, Kitty. But she would only bring home imaginary books then.
That picture is too funny...and quite possibly the highlight of my day...
ReplyDeleteI love Emily Listfield and have been wanting to read Waiting To Surface. It is loosely based on her own life and the disappearance of her husband. I anxiously await to see your thoughts on it!
ReplyDeleteI read Waiting to Surface this year and was just meh about it...
ReplyDeleteI'm catching up in Google Reader -- is that YOUR cat in the blue wig?! Is it a disguise to fool your husband while she's dragging all those books in? ;)
