Calling all BLOGGER Users - HELP

Okay, I am not sure what's up, but for about the last week when some changes were made to Blogger, my home page has been so PAINFULLY SLOW to load. It is also true when I try to make changes on posts and then, I wait and wait and wait to view them.

When I check the blogs of other Blogger users, you page seems to load much quicker, so I'm not sure if it's Blogger or Window's VISTA causing my frustration.

Anyone else having problems??

  1. Your page opens super fast for me. I am using Windows XP and Internet Expl as my browser.

  2. I've noticed that your blog seems to be taking a long time to load up. I haven't noticed it with mine or anyone else's.

  3. I haven't experienced this (and hope not to). It sounds as if it could well be VISTA.

  4. Your page has loaded fine for me. I have Windows Vista and haven't had any problems viewing any Blogger pages. It may have been a weird internet problem. Or maybe a lot of users trying to access your page at once?

  5. I am sitting here talking to our computer tech right now and he thought it might be your internet service provider.

  6. I'm not having any problems, but I don't use Vista.

The "Stumble It!" button showing up in the body of the post may be causing some problems, though.

  7. I know with the changes that were made to Blogger, with the instructions from The Burton Review, she suggested that we go and change our Global Settings in the Settings module. I updated the Select Post Editor to Updated Editor. If you've already done this then I have no idea what could be slowing you down.

  8. I blame Vista. Your page loads pretty quickly for me.

  10. Our computer at home has been a vertible sloth of late--slow to load images on my page and I remember I almost gave up getting yours to open over the weekend (I minimized it and came back it it later). Today at the library everything is moving along swimmingly.

We don't have VISTA, though, in either location.

  11. No problems here, and I am both a Blogger user and a Vista user...sorry :( Just to let you know, though, that your page is loading just great for me!!!

  12. I'm not much help...mine seems to be working ok, but my computer has Win98. Your page is slow for me to load too...

  13. I didn't notice a change this week, not sure if that helps ya.

  14. This might be a problem with your own computer system (especially since you mentioned Windows Vista!). I have no problem with your blog - in fact, it loads much more quickly than most - I like your uncluttered design.

    Good luck -

  15. I'm not using blogger anymore, so I can't really help. But I will say that after I switched from IE to Google Chrome, blogger and Chrome did not play well together at all.

If you don't have access to another computer, maybe you can find someone you trust to log into your account from their computer?

  16. I use Blogger and can't say I have noticed any isses.

Now don't get me started on Vista. I am having nothing but issues with my Vista laptop recently and am hoping to treat myself to a nice clean Window 7 install when in is available in Oct.

  17. Don't get your hopes up. I was trying to help, and was about to say that it was Blogger making your homepage slow... when I realized I have Vista as well. Hang tight! I'm sure someone will have a legit answer!

  18. I found a site where you can check your blog's load time and it will tell you the areas that are the problem and offer suggestions on how to improve the load time. The link is:

    http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/

And here is another site that talks about optimizing your blog loading speed:

    Hope this helps!

  19. I have no idea. Nothing weird is going on with my blog. What changes did they make?

Sometimes having a ton of stuff in the sidebar and a really busy layout will make a blog load slowly. That's all I can think of. But you don't have a problem with either and your blog loads just fine on my computer.

  20. Hi Diane, I don't have any problems like that. I hope yours will be resolved soon.

  21. Thanks so much ALL for your feedback regarding my Blogger woes.
I just deleted my temporary internet files, cookies etc, to see if that helps as well.

We did try our other laptop that has Windows XP, and that one loads easily so I am beginning to think it's more Vista than Blogger (surprise surprise).

(Jenners: I will try those links to see how my page is loading on this compture)

    Once again--much thanks.

  22. Diane - I had no problems loading your blog tonight. It loaded immediately. Good luck!

  23. Blame it in Vista. It loads fine for me and if there's a problem with anything on my computer it's usually due to a Microsoft operating system.

  24. I blame any of my laptop's problems on Vista. I end up using my hubby's computer with XP a lot. Updates on Vista are a nightmare!
I'm on hubby's computer now and your page loaded right away. You got some good input from other bloggers that I am going to look into. Thanks Jenners!

  25. Diane -
It loaded ok when I got her just a minute ago.
I also have vista and have not had a problem.
You should check out windows live writer to do your posts. It is a windows product and it is free and downloaded from the windows site. Highly recommended.
Fire fox browser also seems to be a bit easier to use with loading time than explorer.
    Take care

  26. I haven't had the same problem lately, so sadly I can't help. I hope whatever is causing it is fixed soon, though!

  27. If you think it's your computer that is slow, let me know if I can help. The usual stuff you'd do would be virus scannings and defrags.

If you don't know how...I'll help you out with friendly tech support, don't worry about the cost. Just blog about my services and we'll call it even! Viruses, sooo slow computers, no sweat.
